ACCbbs Pick 'Em ... 2017 Football ... Week 1
OK, if I'm doing the work I'm setting the rules.
1) Games are picked straight up with confidence points.
2) A winner of each week will be declared. Tiebreaker is picking the margain of victory and victor for the game of the week. If that isn't sufficient, the person with the highest confidence point wrong pick loses. If that isn't sufficient, I'll make something fairish up.
3) THE ORDER YOU POST YOUR PICKS IN INDICATES YOUR CONFIDENCE. Highest confidence picks go first. Picks are due in by Noon Saturday unless there is a weekday game as part of the picks. Then they are due by kickoff of that game. Picks made after that time will still be accepted, but all games in progress or done count as wrong picks. Editing your post of picks after the cutoff is grounds for disqualification of all picks for games done or in progress at the time of the last edit.
Help with counting scores, posting spreads, etc is greatly appreciated.

RE: ACCbbs Pick 'Em ... 2017 Football ... Week 1
With just one game to go tonight, we are down to 2 players still in contention. If Georgia Tech wins, lumberpack4 stands alone at 14-5. If Tennessee wins, Lenvillecards holds the tiebreaker over 4X4hokies, and takes the crown at 14-5.
Starting with this week, we will keep track of records for the rest of the regular season, and will crown a season champion and shower him (or her) with praise and adulation - not to mention rep points.
Tie breakers for weekly contest will be pretty much as they were this week:
1. Winner of the Game of the Week (GOW)
2. Margin of victory in GOW. This will only be used if at least two of the players who are tied correctly picked the GOW winner. If not, or if they are still tied, then
3. Confidence points will determine the winner. The player with the highest ranked (by confidence) losing pick will be eliminated. If there are still ties after the first confidence loser, we go to the second most confident pick, and continue down the list until we have a winner. If we are STILL tied, then the Pickem gods have spoken, and we will have co-champions.
Tie breakers for the season crown will be:
1. The player with the most individual week wins (including co-champs)
2. Pick the ACC Championship game winner
3. Margin of victory in ACC CCG (this will be described more fully if we have to go past the first tie-breaker).
In the event a player misses a week, he will be deemed to have picked all the home teams (or the underdog in a neutral site game, such as the RRR or Florida-Georgia). To be eligible for the season crown, you can only use this default once. If you skip a second week, you will still be eligible for the weekly contests, but not the season contest.
There will also be a separate contest to pick all the bowl games, so we can't totally ignore G5 schools. The rules for that will follow at the appropriate time.
Hopefully, I will have the games for this week posted on a separate thread by this afternoon. Point spreads may not be available yet for all games, so I will edit as they are posted.

That's what happens when you make a pick with your heart instead of the head.

I'll take an initial tie.
I was hoping GT could hang on.

Fortunately, for those of us who did not perform as well as Lenvillecards (the winner in a tiebreak over 4X4hokies), the results of this first week don't carry over into the season standings. That's because - due to our late start - many of our regular players didn't get to compete this week.
Congratulations, Lenvillecards, winner by tiebreak with an impressive 14-5 record.
Feel free to shower him with rep points and praise!

I would've been happier with a GT win, especially since this week doesn't count on the season. Congrats to 4x4hokies as well.
