UK is cocky as hell this preseason, set them back a notch!

The Kentucky media as well as their players have emphatically stated that they would NEVER lose to Southern Miss again. You know what, I hope that this team can play lights out and make them eat those words. I'm not delusional enough to think we win this one going away. If we are to bring it home, we are going to have to be multiple on offense with no turnovers.
Their players have also stated that no SEC team should ever lose to a lowly CUSA team. The football Gods(Ra) have shined on USM because it looks like we will have good weather Saturday. We need it to play into our strength which is speed. Speed vs size is what is on display Saturday. I have held my comments with respect to where USM will finish in CUSA this year quietly. Every time USM is picked in the middle of the pack the last 20 years, we usually exceed expectations. Defense is the key. This USM team has senior leadership all over the field on defense. This defense will set the tone. A trend back to what USM was built on. Jay Hopson is the reason for this trend back to big offensive, defensive linemen and speed at the skill positions.
We appreciate the support from all the CUSA brethren. For USM and the conference, I hope we can deliver Saturday. Southern Miss To the Top!

The UK marching band stopped off at the mall here in Bowling Green on their way down there I suppose. I kindly told them I hope they get whooped on the field tomorrow.

Yea except we have had a reason to be cocky in football, UK since 1984 has had zero reasons to be cocky in football...Hoops a different story, football nope...

I can handle UK football, they are nowhere near the bball team as far as bandwagon fans boasting about "we". I almost feel sorry for the football team, they have not had a winning record in the SEC since the 70's. They were decent last season and ended up beating their biggest rival in Louisville. The Toppers and USM beat them without their best teams and any win over a SEC team is a plus. Would I like to see USM win? Of course but UK football is not anywhere near the level that the basketball team is on obnoxious fans.
