I know some are advocating City Park for the construction of a new facility. However, word from the Wilson Center is that plans are not yet in their infant stages, and the site that seems to be most favored (at this time) is the area between Claiborne Ave, Leonidas, Mississippi River and the Parish Line (somewhere within that footprint.)

I'm familiar with the area, which is to say I've driven by it. It's really poor and run down and could use some attention.

It would be nice to hear an official announcement about the project from the University once they've done all their homework. Any idea when that might be?

There are too many variables concerned to give a specific timetable, but I would guess it won't be for another 2 years.
