All Rice athletics fans,

Hope you all are well and staying safe during this tragic time where so many people have been negatively affected by this horrific disaster. My name is Miles Lester and I am a freshman on the Men's basketball team. We have started a fundraising site and are attempting to reach $1,000,000 dollars to help out the people who have lost everything from this tragedy. So far we have reached around $30,000. We would all appreciate it and love it if anyone who has the means could make a donation. Small or large anything can help! NBA player De'Aaron Fox donated $25,000 to the fund today. Bravo! He's a Houstonian (Cy Ranch) who played at Kentucky and will be a rookie for Sacramento next season.

This is about as worthy an object of largesse as anything I can think of. We need to dig into our pockets here. Am headed over right now to make a contrib.

Spread the word, please! This needs to have a broader distribution. Think that lots of non Rice people would be interested in donating, should it be called to their attention.
