I wonder if the casual college football fan will tune into a game on CBSSN. I'm guessing it will mainly be Tiger fans watching.

Bet the ratings will be pretty good.

Cowboys-Texans got cancelled. Ohio State - Indiana on ESPN, but might be a blowout by the time our game starts.

Early in the season, NFL doesn't start for another week. Viewers are anxious to watch some football.

no way to know. CBS Sports Network isn't Neilsen rated. The average college football game on ESPNU gets about 140k viewers. So, I bet ours is less than 100k

A rowdy crowd in a rain storm is fun stuff

A big time program also doesn't schedule a late-kickoff game on a Thursday night on CBS Sports. We were already fighting an uphill battle with attendance for this one before the weather came into play.

Coach "fought for" this game slot. He liked it. Before the storm.

Going to be less than 5000. Wrecks all over the damn place and lots of flooding. I have my rain gear ready, but you have to wonder how many fans will end up in wrecks. This is dangerous

So, here is the deal...CBSSNcan SIGNIFICANTLY increase the game viewership by playing it tonight, when even the most ardent Tiger fan will opt to watch on TV.

RE: Attendance Prediction
I originally said 28,500 for attendance in rain, but i'm changing my prediction to 8,500. Almost everyone i know has backed out including everyone in my group. I'm still coming.

TV contract with CBS Sports.

I cant believe that CBS Sports can force us to play the game at this time in these conditions. This isnt going to be that big of a money maker for them. Now, I could see where Norvell might want to get this one out of the way and keep the 2 extra days to prepare for UCF. That is the only reasonable explanation I can see.

Norvell wanted the game as a showcase and to give extra time before UCF. Bowen says coach "fought" for this time slot. Makes sense.

CBS can't force the game over weather. It becomes a local decision between both coaches and the officials. If there is no lightning or tornado sirens though, you can bet they will play.

Unfortunately, I don't think there will be enough rain to push this.

I get that, but what about fan safety? So many flooded streets and so many wrecks. God forbid of any of our fans are involved in a fatal accident. It is all about money.
