It seems that its only for members who "renew" but really 99% of the members renew every year so I bet if you call and prove to them that you are a current member they will give you the promo code. Worse case they ask you to renew your member ship for an additional year.
"As a renewing member, you qualify for $15 tickets rather than the regular $30 admission. After renewing your membership on the adjacent link, call Michelle Japlon at 815-753-2800 or email her at mjaplon@niu.edu to get the promo code."
