The same reason millions of people watch cars go around a track really fast or grown men play sports. It's entertainment. Allows them to put aside the worries of life for a couple of hours and focus on something meaningless. Same as going to a movie or watching most any other tv show.

Of course, you do realize those oiled up dudes have a larger social media following than any other sport/actor/musician/politican or whatever other group you want to use. Maybe it's a few more than "macho southern guys"....

Interesting that they did not bring out a joke of a promotion "rasler" tonight to defend Anaheim. A legitimate wrestler off the main roster came out. The guy lost but it was STILL a legitimate roster member. And not a fictitious performer from a promotion which does not exist.
