Didn't see Kulon on the 2 deep...did he get hurt? Our back-up TE is a 6'1 245 former walk on RB?

Red shirt frosh won the backer job behind Taafe, congrats to Linch too

There are 6 senior starters on offense and 4 on defense. For a team picked to win the MAC, we have a lot of young guys playing. Also, the punter is a freshman. The program just keeps reloading, not rebuilding.

Jordan Fisher was pushing Roberts at the TE position before Jordan was injured. My guess is Gilliam is the FB. He is a true RB and very good blocker. He's definitely a running threat. So it looks like they listed #1 TE and #1FB, instead of two deep at each position.

Maybe Kulon got moved back to DE.

Wasn't he a former rugby player? If so, could indeed make him somewhat dangerous on a trick play. Greater chance he bounces off the first guy who tries to tackle him; heck, he might even give a lick or two of his own! Seems like every season there's been one team that picks up a 1st down because they had a rugby-style punter who starts trotting to the side and then takes off instead of punting.

Did Oleknama get hurt? There was just an article saying he and Taffe competing for starting role. I most wooried about the Mike LB position on Defense.. Taffe just doesn't show very good instincts at the postion.

I thought the QB that transferred from Illinois (Eli Peters) was going to be a factor at QB. Not on the 3-deep at QB. UT lists him as 6-2 and 190 in the press guide but he was listed as 6-3 210 coming out of HS. As good as he was in HS in Florida, seems strange he is not fighting for time as the back-up. RS freshman. Guadagni is the back-up. I don't remember him getting any time on the field last year.

Yeah. I'd like clarification on this too. I thought Olekanma looked good before he was injured last season. Is he still on the roster?

Article from the Blade today talks about LB depth and Olekanma wasn't even mentioned? Was the LB article from last week just pulled together looking at Spring Depth charts?

Wouldn't it be nice if Toledo has a sports reporter or 2 that actually investigated and reported on things like this?

I tweeted at the Blade-dude and asked about Olekanma and Kulon. Basically said Wilson has just beaten out Olekanma for the #2 LB position. For the TEs, said that the two names on the depth chart are better receivers than Kulon. So, looks like those guys are still on the team, just have drifted down the chart.

I wouldn't be surprised to still see Kulon as a blocker in some jumbo sets.

I have been wondering the same thing about Eli Peters. I watched a couple of his high school games here in Florida and the kid was a Stud! With all that kids talent I cant imagine that we won't start to hear or see more of him.
