Why not wait until tomorrow to fill all the bowl slots
With a win today, Navy goes over .500, becoming bowl eligible. Why not hold a spot in the event they win?

Navy is already bowl eligible. They're already slotted for the Military Bowl vs Virginia.

I find it extremely hard to believe 4 days make a difference for travel plans.

Definitely does for the early bowls ... and of course the pre-XMas bowls can't be filled until the post-XMas bowls are filled.

The thing is, if Navy hadn't been bowl eligible yet like you were thinking, they would have had Navy provisionally selected for a bowl, and had an alternate basically. If Navy had lost the game, that slot would have gone to one of the teams that were home for the holidays.
