RE: Boston College Predictions
BC games notes are up on the BC site
https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/b...es_NIU.pdf
I don't see a 2 deeps, is it customary for visiting team to not provide that?
Jason Horowitz (play-by-play), David Diehl (color analyst) and Erik Coleman (sideline reporter) will be on the call.

RE: Boston College Predictions
I don't see us winning, especially now that we know Graham is starting and they're going with a rotation of RBs rather than a heavy dose of Huff.
NIU - 13
BC - 23

Reading rest of that presser from Adazzio is scary too, they know NIU can't and won't throw the ball, they are selling out 100 percent. First downs will be tough to come by.

Now, if only RC were smart, he'd set up the game plan to be pass-heavy with shorter lower risk passes over the stacked line. I'd be thrilled with a ton of 5 to 15 yard passes. Of course, that may mean using the TE a lot. But, if BC stacks the box and runs are not productive, there isn't too much choice here. Yes, of course, we'll see the bubble screens and jet sweeps, and BC will expect it. Gotta do something they won't expect: passes up the middle. Is RC brave enough?

RE: Boston College Predictions
Key Stat for the game.
BC - 3.62 sacks per game last year
If BC is in the backfield all game long it will be a terrible game for us.
Offensive Line step up against good competition for once.

I think we're going to have a lot of trouble moving the ball and the score falls somewhere around what you have here.
I obviously hope I'm wrong and hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I just do not have a good feeling about our offense.

Agreed. Based on what we saw last year, our QB has limited skills and the game plans were somewhat conservative to fit his skills. The O-line this year against a MAC D may open some holes, but it won't be easy against BC. I don't see us doing much on offense, and my prediction is 3 FGs. Hope I'm wrong.

In defense of the offensive line, it's tough to be successful when everyone in the stadium knows what you are doing. Only a few select offensive lines nationally can be successful when opponents know what's coming. Also makes it much easier when a defense can forget about defending the middle of the field with NIU.

The last time we played BC, Hare either didn't have time to throw or if he did the WR dropped it. BC didn't necessarily know what we were going to do, but it didn't matter.

I just think blaming the offensive line is a cop out. Linebackers can cheat against NIU because they only have to play laterally and not with any depth concerns. It just makes it extra hard for QBs and OL.

I'd really like to see Huff get some running room this game to see what he can do. It would make such a huge difference in the outcome.

RE: Boston College Predictions
"predictions" I feel some confidence in:
- QB1 plays, not much exciting happens. QB2 comes in, about the same. For game 2, no clear cut #1 QB, and we start asking for QB3 and QB4 to get some time.
- Play calling leaves us wanting more, we start complaining Carey isn't using all his play makers. We start looking for websites 'head coaches on the hot seat' and hope we see Carey there.
- Our secondary makes just about all of the tackles, BC gets into the secondary seemingly too easy.
It feels like I think this early on every year...i can't be the only one...what other themes are we accustomed to dealing with?
