Do you know what a government shutdown actually entails? It sounds much worse that it really is. Grandma still gets her check. If your trying to see Yellowstone, you might be in trouble---but otherwise---its a non-event.

I have a feeling a Trump shutdown might not be the same.

They are all the same. Money is always coming into the government from withholding, fees, tariffs, ect and certain items have priority---debt payments, SS checks, military salaries, etc. lol....the Fed (which is the federal government) owns a crap load of US bonds and actually counts the interest paid by the government as revenue (gotta love government accounting). So even some of the debt payment cycles back to the revenue side of the equation........Of course, you are correct, a shut down will be portrayed as the end of the world by CNN trying to convince us Trump is solely responsible and everyone is going to die.

That's not what I meant.

I suspect Trump will send folks home and not pay them unlike previous shutdowns where everyone got their money.

I also expect he will send a lot more workers home.

Obama tried to make the shutdown hurt the populace. Trump is going to make the shutdown hurt Washington.

This will be something we have never seen before.

Unfortunately the government workers involved have zero to do with this. The first ones that should go without a check are in Congress.

It's just incredibly sad. People outside the bubble look upon this administration as dangerous and a colossal mistake.

People outside your bubble realize Hillary with her corruption and incompetence would have been far worse.

That last government shutdown was brutal. All those government employees got free days off with backpay after it was done and all those that didn't get free days off got to hassle people trying to look at WW2 monuments. I barely survived.

Nah, it's just the leftist loons who are upset because they don't have someone they can push around now. I'm not concerned at all what they think.

While people on the inside of the bubble look at those of you on the outside with amazement at how delusional your side has become.

No, I'm pretty sure the whole world is laughing at us right now.

Sure they are, until you look at the various people THEY'VE elected.

They're laughing only because it allows them to deflect from their own problems which are vastly worse than ours. Everyone loves to find SOME flaw in 'the popular kid'

There are lots of countries I've visited and would like to live in, but none because of their economic opportunities, freedom or government intervention.

Frankly, most of them who are laughing are doing so because of the foolish lies like this one that people like Mach spread and the media runs with and that's what 'the rest of the world' hears the most of/about.

He won't even address the proof of the very factual lies he's spreading... he merely insists that despite everything he said being a lie about Trump being to blame or lying, that he is still somehow 'correct' that Trump is to blame and a liar.

The left is AT LEAST as much to blame for the poor global perception as Trump is... and this entire point/article is proof positive.

Pretty much the same way 48% of the electorate looked at Obama's last 8 years. The only difference is another 3% moved to the "Obama was a colossal mistake" side in 2016.

Let me explain something very basic to you. The biggest issues facing this country have not been solved and have been allowed to fester for years. Thats because whoever touches them will be very unopular with those that profit from the status quo. Thats a lot of people---it it wasnt, these issues would already have been fixed. Balancing the budget, immigration, the debt, the coming Social Security shortfall, coming Medicaide/Medicare shortfalls, virtually every pension in America is horribly underfunded----not to mention N Korea, China, Russia, and Iran.

The only guy thats going to tackle those kinds of issues is going to be a guy like Trump. Your regular politicians will just kick the can down the road because dealing with them isnt going to be popular with everyone. The problem is, typical politicians control all the other branches of government and the deep state---so Im becoming more pessimistic that any of these problems can ever be really addressed. We may just have to deal with these issues when they finally explode (which will be really bad) rather than proactively dealing with problems before they become disasters.

There are real problems out there. Instead, folks like you are crying over a fake Russia narrative and a parsed statement after a Klan Rally. Really? Thats what the media thinks is improtant? I can think of a 100 things off the top of my head that are more pressing issues facing us as a people today.

Although BBC is a whole lot more fact based than the stuff you get from the MSM here.

We can only hope. Start with the congress-critters and their staffers. If they aren't doing their jobs, why do they expect to be paid?

OTOH, I'll bet the WWII memorial stays open... 07-coffee3
