Chop blocking is illegal (Hitting a player below the thighs, while he is currently engaged with another player). Navy doesn't chop block. Perhaps you are referring to cut blocking, which is a perfectly legal maneuver.

Navy gets away with a lot of chop blocks during a game. I'm not saying they play dirty doing it but they do it often.

It's about like Louisville basketball....they press and play with their hands for most of the 40 minutes. The refs can only call so many of the fouls. Then let some of the borderline but still illegal plays go.

Beating Navy is all about the defense playing smart and staying in their lanes. It goes against everything those players have been taught. But it's the #1 key to getting the win.

Players are taught to be aggressive and go for the player with the football. But with Navy you must stay in your lanes. Western did just that over a two year period and went 4-0 verses Navy/Army

If you want to see some top notch chop blocking, watch a BYU game, dirtiest team in college football. Matter of fact, their basketball team (players) aren't any angels either, known as sucker punch U.

Well Lane said that Chris Kiffin has watched just about every piece of film and talked to everyone he could on stopping the Triple option.

I talked to one FAU assistant at an Alumni event and he said when a team has to play at navy on a regular week all you do is cross your fingers.

RE: FAU hosting US Naval Academy
Late last night FAU announced that they opened up another 1000 tickets for the students, and they went off the shelves. Student section is 5000 +1000 additional released to them. So well have 6K students in attendance. Most likely more then we had for the Miami Hurricanes game, as I dont believe we added extra seats for that one.

Officially a student section sellout. #atlanticrising

That's excellent news. We might have more home field support than we have had most nights in the past.

I like that Red look for FAU... looks pretty slick. Not sure about the state of Florida on the side with Atlantic though--should have done your owl logo or gone with "FAU".

Agree. I think FAU should run with the cherry red look.

This possession definitely looks better than the last one.
