Exclamation 12 Days to Kickoff... #12 So. QB Cole Johnson
[Image: johnson_cole_12.jpg?width=300]

Cole performed admirably when needed as a true frosh a season ago. A native of Va Beach, his 6'5" frame can be quite an advantage seeing the field. An Accounting major, Cole was named to the CAA All-Academic Team a season ago. I look forward to (hopefully) seeing quite a bit of Cole this season (read: after Schor departs with a big lead). He will be in the running - and likely the favorite - to take over as the starter for the Dukes heading into Spring next year. Good luck to Cole this season.

Happy Solar Eclipse Day, btw. The Dukes FB team will not be impressed though of course. That is, they deal with A.J. Bolden blocking out the sun on a daily basis. That is one big dude. :>)

Anyone know how the shoulder Cole injured in the spring game is doing? Is he practicing at full speed or is he still recovering from the injury?

Per MH, Cole Johnson has been looking great and is the #2 QB. Plan to redshirt Gage Maloney.

I talked to him on Saturday night and he said it was completely healed. He was with a bunch of OL when I stood next to him and put my even skinnier legs next to his, saying: Who said you had skinny legs? I asked him how much he weighs? Answer: 210.

He does not show it on his lean 6' 5" frame but he swears he is that weight. Plus 15 at least from last year. I liked that he was hanging with the OL guys, great to see the QB knowing who his guys are!
