I really think one reason football is the most anticipated sport is that we get so little of it: Regarding MLB, NASCAR, and the NBA, it seems like once a season ends, you blink your eyes and the next one is starting up, and sports like golf and tennis just seem to go on continuously.

College football? It's been 233 days, more than 7 1/2 long months, since I last saw USF kick off a real game.

But as of today, it's Game Week! GOOOO BULLLS!

First, I didn't realize there were games next Saturday. That's cool.

Second, USF's OOC schedule is worse than ours - SJSU, Stony Brook, UMass and Illinois. wow.

First, I understand why you might think that, especially because ESPN has been touting the following week as "College Football Kickoff". Which is very strange marketing since the ESPN family has five games on next Saturday, three of them on ESPN itself, going from 11 AM all the way to midnight, but they are acting like those games don't exist.

Second, yes, on paper our OOC schedule looks very bad, it could be a killer for us in terms of getting the G5-NY6 spot, even if we run the table. It is what it is, so all we can do is win the games and hope for the best. Would definitely help if, after losing to us, Illinois shocks the world and is competitive in the B1G. Not likely, but we can hope.

USF goes 7-5 this season.

FWIW, I'm not making any predictions about our record. To me, a new coaching change is like your star QB going out with an injury, Vegas will take the game off the boards because of the uncertainty.

I'm extremely hopeful about this season, but am very anxious as well.

Just hope we represent well OOC.
