Not for anyone involved in the "Arts and Humanities" for the most part anyway.
Be curious to know what exactly this committee did anyway. Why do we have a Federal government committee involved in A&H's? Not brushed up on my Constitution this week, but I don't recall seeing that in there.

Seems to me like an excellent time to look at defunding the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities. With no committee left, why should they have a budget?

I agree. There are plenty of uber rich people that will step up and finance this without the Federal government being involved.

I'm sure you could start with the 16 committee members that pearl clutched their way out the door.

I heard the vapors where just infectious that day. 07-coffee3

So these people complain that what they do is really, really important, but not so important they can't resign just because they hate the president.

Quote:Sixteen (of the 17) members of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities resigned Friday, citing the president's recent rhetoric surrounding the violent demonstrations in Charlottesville, Virginia, last weekend.

"The Administration's refusal to quickly and unequivocally condemn the cancer of hatred only further emboldens those who wish America ill," a letter from the committee said. "We cannot sit idly by, the way your West Wing advisors have, without speaking out against your words and actions."

What's more disturbing is the otherwise smart people are falling in line with the spin.

These are some dark days.

Its like Nomad says. Its not worth the harassment from the left. And that is their goal. They are trying to stop the conservative agenda through attacking Trump and intimidating people from helping him.

Sorry, but it should be a universal axiom, that you do not and cannot ever defend the actions and mindset of Nazi's in any way shape or form. trump did this Tuesday.

I honestly don't think he meant to.

Not only did he not mean to, he didn't. Any rational person can see it but then the vast majority of the left isn't rational. They've swallowed the narrative whole and despite his comments being recorded and in print they just refuse to accept that he soundly condemned the haters and qualified his statements. Tell me you recognize this and are not simply another zombie being blindly led by those with an anti-Trump agenda who will do and say anything they are told to do or say.

Keep in mind I am not a Trump supporter per se but I do support his stated agenda and I do support whoever is sitting in his seat. I never wished for Obama to fail even while disagreeing with him on almost every issue.

You don't strike me as that gullible.
