The Sun Belt has two top tier teams App State and Troy. Sadly they don't play each other.

The middle is really hard to predict.

What your predicted standings?

Who is your sleeper team?

Who is the biggest disappointment?

Always looking forward to chatting with you guys about the Sun Belt. 04-cheers

It's kinda hard to take this statement seriously: "QB's Seth Shuman and Shai Werts are the top two options. You will likely see both until one them take the reigns." Seth Shuman left the football program a month. Makes me wonder how much research you really did. Here's a link. http://savannahnow.com/local-colleges/ne...tball-team.

I won't comment on where I think GS will end up, because there are a lot of questions left to be answered. However, you have Georgia State ahead of Arkansas State? Realllllyyyy??? We're all entitled to our opinions, I guess.

Seth Shuman isn't coming back.

Also, we will not be a flexbone team this year.

Most conferences only have a few top tier teams. App State and Troy are at the top heading into the season.

How many top tier teams do you see in the Sun Belt?
It's like leaving Alabama out of the top tier in the SEC. A day will come when we are not a top tier team for at least a season but when you when 5 of 6, it is earned for the preseason.

Okay, defenses are dominant, not "dominate". If you think Hansen is going to miss Echols-Luper then you don't know anything about the returning team. In a tie with NMSU? Really?

They only reason they do is how they perform out of conference, which is probably the only time most college football fans pay any attention to an SBC team.

They also tend to be ranked real low in all the rankings that people look at during the course of a season, until near the end of the season, because they front load the non-conference teams that they lose to.

If they only win 2 games, I will donate $2,000 to a charity of your choosing.

Everyone on the Stassen has them pegged from 8th to 11th. They have a tough schedule. No bye until November, five home games, and a brutal non conference schedule. The first three games of conference play will be huge.

It would be the first time they have won 6 games since 2013.

That sir is good looking info.

They’ve become darlings around here this offseason but 4-8 is staring them in the face.

4-8 is a pretty realistic prediction. 2 games winning is not a very bright prediction.

Take the over on everybody except maybe NMSU and Louisiana depending on how their returning talent shakes out. Lots of question marks for Louisiana. Georgia State should be improved and could hit 5 or 6 wins, but I wouldn't bet on them either.

I really want to visit this at the end of the year and see if Vegas truly undervalues us. Maybe some money to be had in the future.

RE: Sun Belt Football Predictions 2017
1. GS will lead the conference in rushing again and be a top 3 offense.
2. App State will lose 1 conference game, no more no less (sadly, it probably won't be to us).
3. We will beat Arkansas State in Statesboro. 05-stirthepot
4. We will beat two of Boise State, Georgia, Auburn, Miami, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, and Indiana.
5. Georgia State will be top 3 in defense and bottom 3 in offense (in terms of yards per play) again.
6. South Alabama will make it two years in a row with a bowl bid.
7. Coastal Carolina will win no less than 4 games, and probably win 1 or 2 more.
8. We won't lose to any FCS teams this year.
9. We will finish ahead of the CUSA and MAC in the CFP G5 conference ratings again. 05-stirthepot
10. We have another winning record in bowl games.

RE: Sun Belt Football Predictions 2017
In today's Jonesboro Sun Blake Anderson said his team was "bigger and better" than they were last year.

"We are bigger, we are longer, we are more dynamic and faster than we have been the past four years", and "This is the most talented team we've got".

He also added that "this team is capable, physically capable of winning every game on our schedule. ".

There is no doubt that he is telling the truth but he was last year when he made his "Dallas or Bust" challenge based on their talent, then started 0-4, and threw in a loss to a not-so-good by their standards ULL team.

I'm sticking with eight wins for them, but it is only because Blake Anderson is their HC, and has yet to prove he can get it done.

If Neal Brown were their coach, this is a top 25 team, and Nebraska, or Miami or both probably get beat.

Even with Anderson as HC, they should beat every SBC team, even Troy with Brown.

What exactly happened the last time Neal Brown coached a top 25 team?

Probably what is going to happen this year when he has to play an SBC team with top 25 talent, and there is only one.

I did correct my post and added the "should" to "they beat every SBC team".

If yall think there's going to be a repeat of last year you're sorely mistaken. I think you guys are looking too much at 247 composite ratings and not really understanding what Troy has this year especially on offense. The receiver we got from EMCC and the running back we got from Memphis are arguably the best offensive players we've ever had at Troy. And that's on top of bringing everyone else on offense back including two high level receivers we get back from injury and grades, and two more deep threats we added on the outside. Jerrel Jernigan is probably the one player that can say he's better than these guys, and Henderson could end up being better. The two I mentioned are going to really shock everyone - bet on that.

We may not beat Arkansas State, but what happened last year is no more and too many of you are seeing this as an auto win for Arkansas State. I think we get Texas State before we play the Red Wolves this year with an extra day to prepare since we play on a Friday. Last year was a five day layover after a tough game with the conference champs. I'm looking forward to it.

RE: Sun Belt Football Predictions 2017
The problem is you guys do not know how talented A-State is because Blake Anderson has been their HC. That's the problem, not that Troy or AppSt, who is really not in the top 4 as far as talent in the SBC, are not good, they are.

A-State is just more talented, and has been for a while.

This is the most talented team they have had since 1975, and I'm not sure if it is not the most talented ever, and will be even better in 2018.

As far as Anderson I am not going to disagree with those that write off what has happened as "water-under-the-bridge" because he has not been the same since UCA ,and only has one "bad" loss to ULL since. Make that a "terrible loss".
