Home of Roger Clemons. In the early 90's, I lived in Spring, TX and worked in W. Houston. The nicest HS stadium at that time was Stratford HS just off I-10. Craig James and David Klingler both played there.

I bet the taxpayers of Katy feel pretty foolish that they spent $60+ million dollars on a high school stadium now that most of these same people (and area) are flooded out of house and home due to Hurricane Harvey rains. Our society has to learn to pump the breaks sometimes and be a little bit more prudent. JMO.

C'mon man. Right now they are just trying to stay alive and protect what few valuables and personal belongings they have left. You're way outta line buddy. I have friends and family down there.

Katy is out West away from the Gulf, hopefully they are escaping the worst of it.

I worked in the Texas Medical Center a lot, always tried to fly into Hobby. Those areas have to be getting hit bad.

So what happens to those little rubber particles on an artificial surface when flood waters come in? Happened to CBHS a couple years ago. Tjose things are supposed to be hazardous.

No, Katy is a suburb of Houston.

I was just thinking for $60 million you could get one of those Mega pumps like New Orleans has. A place as low lying as Houston, seems like they would need some of those all the time.

I know. But it's west, 30 miles from Katy to the center of Houston.

Most of Katy is fine. My boss lives in the Cinco Ranch area of Greater Katy. A few streets were flooded but most of it is fine. She has yet to lose power.

Greater Katy has over 300,000 people and a fairly high average income(almost 100k average household income). They can afford a lot of things.

My first office location when I transferred to Houston in '90 was Park10 Place off Hwy 6 and I-10 West. Katy was less than 10 minutes from me. Then I was sent down to Clear Lake for a year. My last stop there was in Greenspoint. Over those four years I've driven many many miles in Harris County.

I moved from Memphis to Houston in January '91. My work location was on Hwy 6 about 8 miles south of I-10. Lived there just over 9 years.

Can you explain to me how Clear Lake got it's name? Ain't nothing clear about it!

I got an email from internet marketing friend that lives near a lake in the Houston area.

"The lake is cresting tomorrow but we will be ok."

Two days later he sent another email

"Flooded. Lost everything."

Then it would probably be wise for me to stay away from there.
