You definitely practice with the team unless you're kicked off the team. Why wouldn't you?

i don't think the question is whether he's practicing, he's whether he's practicing with the FIRST team.

i'm guessing (again) that this is a coach's decision. they could theoretically come back in the second half, but maybe he feels that would be a distraction? how would you split up first team reps in practice that week? if it is up to him, I don't blame him for doing that. better to let the backup get all the reps.
I could be wrong, maybe they'll be back in the 2nd half of that game, but I am not counting on it.
Before last season it was announced the UNH stud TE (was all CAA 2015) was suspended for the 1st 6 games of the season for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Put 2 and 2 together- he probably pissed hot after their 1 2015 playoff game. it turned out to be 5.5 games, as he played in the 2nd half in their 6th game vs Elon.
So it wouldn't surprise me to see Alls & Hereford available for the 2nd half of the 4th game vs Maine, which would be the 2nd half of their 6th suspended game. Also wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see them until the 5th game vs UD..

Continuing to update suspension story. Just spoke with Mike Houston again. Alls, Hereford, Bethea, Edwards are suspended for four games...

Kloosterman is suspended for two games and Hawkins is suspended for one game.
Obviously the 2 that really hurt are Kloosterman and Alls, and Kloosterman only misses 1 significant game.
Are thin at WR in terms of returning experience & talent. For the 1st 4 games the top 4 WR from last season will all be gone. JMU 3 starting WR, usually 6 that rotate in during games. The top 4 for the 1st 4 games I would assume would be Miller, Hyman, Etheridge, and Stapleton. They are the only 4 I know of with playing experience (Etheridege at UVA last season, including 2 starts). Don't know who the next 2 will be that we'll be seeing get significant PT..
The rest just hurt depth wise:
-Hereford is the leading returning tackler, but I don't think with 6 starts last season he was considered a returning starter. If not suspended would maybe be on the 2 deep along with Holloway and the UMD & UVA transfers. Maybe Hawkins would still be on the outside.
-M Hawkins is a true fr, but one of the top 2-3 recruits from this past signing class. With the lack of returning depth at DT isn't he seeing reps on the 2 deep?
-Edwards is a 2 deep OL.
-Bethea I assume the 5th or 6th corner and special teams.

On Thursday, true freshman tight end Clayton Cheatham, who Houston said could see action this year, was used in multiple tight end sets.

I have no doubt that Carlton and Cheatham can get the job done as far as pass catching. It's the other aspect of the TE position that concerns me, especially Cheatham who is a 220lb true freshman.

Edwards has taken quite a few snaps with the 1's, with Stinnie's recovery slowing him.
Holloway has not been practicing yet so Hereford's suspension may be more an issue. But we have 2 weeks left so hopefully that helps Holloway.

really going out on a limb there. they might play and they might not. cool, we might beat ECU and we might not. that's my prediction.

i'm still confused about this paragraph. i said they could "theoretically come back in the second half" and that perhaps MH is making a coaching decision. you then mentioned what a completely different coach did. does MH call Sean McDonnell about his coaching decisions?

Sorry, I missed that part. I think the ?? is is the NCAA mandating a 6 game suspension, or 5 1/2 games.
