Oh boy! That should get our share of the CUSA tv monies to about $6.20. Of course CUSA will allow Liberty to have their own network as the mormons do so they will get about $50bazzilian from 700 network.
Don't worry, they(and ODU) will only be in CUSA for a short window. They are already leaps and bounds ahead of USM in facilities. Indoor football facility was just completed....and a legit baseball stadium.
isn't it (sad) funny how they utilized USD and acreage.....
Well, they have big time Jesus money. They might be paying us to play in a 1-1.
OK, so Marshall is getting $500k for their trip to Lynchburg. They owe Liberty nothing for their trip to Huntington. I'm guessing we're getting the same deal?? (would hope so)
Would rather play a Ark State or ULL but if they are paying us $500k, I won't be too pissed.

how do you know this? are these just assumptions you are making up or do you have some reliable, factual information?

Other than the fact that we know those schools aren't on our future schedule, no.
Memphis has 1-1s with ULM, USA, UTSA, Georgia State, and UNT. Just seems sorta odd that they aren't on our schedule when they have all those other games. Kinda like when State had signed a series with pretty much every other southern mid-major but us (until they finally agreed to a 1-1 in 2009). Became pretty obvious that they were avoiding us.
ECU has series with App State and ODU. Houston has a 1-1 with Georgia Southern and UTSA.

well there's about 240 other schools not on their schedule too. doesn't mean they are avoiding all of them like the plague. dont get me wrong, id love usm to play those teams you mentioned (esp over Liberty, Savannah st, etc.), but doesn't mean they are avoiding us. it def doesnt make any sense though why usm and memphis wont make a serious effort to start scheduling each other again. its a win/win.

if he would've read the cusa board over the last handful, he would have a full dose of "understand"
your posit simply (no malice) states the result of cause/effect.....
edit: take note of our 'join stamp'....I already know what you know....if we only had more of yaz!

my understanding of Memphis scheduling is this - they want 7 home games per season with at least 1 Power team in that mix. Memphis signed a one off game at Purdue in 2020 because Memphis couldnt return the game until 2027 and Purdue didnt want to wait that long. Memphis recruits Texas heavily(why they want in Dallas every season)along with Louisiana (want to play in state every year) and Georgia/South Alabama. They simply dont feel they need a Mississippi game to recruit Mississippi. its nothing personal.

FWIW, Ross Bjork has said that the Memphis/OM series will end indefinitely after the 2019 game at LBMS. Memphis does have a 1-1 lined up with State though.

Thanks for dropping by. Don't know about everyone else, but I'd love to play Memphis regularly again.. Don't see it happening, however. We did just sign a 2-2 with Tulane but I'd much rather play Memphis or ECU.
If you guys are booked until 2027, I'm hoping there's an agreement between USM and UofM that just hasn't been announced yet. 2025 and 2026 are empty on your FBSchedules page.

I would like to see it too. I'm just passing along the Memphis perspective of things. after the NCAA gets through with Mississippi, they might not be so high and mighty about playing Memphis in football beyond 2019

If you're expecting humility from Old Mess, you'll be waiting a long time.

that's not what I said at all. those are teams from power conferences, so they want/need those.
nastybunch is a good guy and good fan and means well. im sure of that. but he has trouble understanding the concept of how it benefits USM (and Memphis) to play bigger named P5 schools schools like Auburn, TN, South Carolina, etc., or even regional P5 schools like MSU and UM.
The problem is that you and many others are brainwashed to believe this. The bottom line is that they don't want their asses whipped and has nothing to do with recruiting...lol

Bjork wont be the AD at Ole Miss for much longer so his viewpoint really doesn't matter. The next AD could get in there and have a completely different viewpoint of playing Memphis.
