New MBB Assistant Coach
Tim Johnson was named an assistant coach. Johnson is a former Wofford assistant and is being brought in to fill the void from David Kotaxis leaving for Okie State. Johnson had interviewed for the opening that Summers filled originally. It's nice to bring another experience assistant on board. Wofford has been a solid program and Johnson left his alma mater (where he is a Hall of Famer from his playing days) to join Coach Rowe's staff.

From a recruiting standpoint while he doesn't have direct ties to DC the way an AAU coach would he has recruited DC and crossed paths a lot with JMU on the recruiting trail. As an example of the 6 finalists for the 18 PG Daivien Williamson one is JMU and one is Wofford. Wofford was also the only mid major to offer Zion Williamson a 5 star from SC and had offers out to two other JMU 2018 targets Trey Doomes from Georgia and Jason Wade who played with Zach Jacobs at Trinity.
