So a WR who has now played for three schools in 5 years and caught less than 25 passes in his career. I'm all for bodies, but you have to ask yourself if giving time to one of the Sophomores who has better career stats already is better off for the program.

RE: UC lands Louisville Grad transfer WR JaQuay Savage
He's worth it for only one year and to be coached by our upgraded Staff IMO.

Quote:The 6-foot-3, 214-pounders decision to transfer was based on the lack of playing time he was receiving at Louisville, per a source. He made no catches while battling injuries in 2016. In 2015, he played in nine games, including starting six, and caught 12 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown.

While he’s yet to live up to his ranking coming out of high school, he wants a chance to change that under Luke Fickell and Joker Phillips. The former 2012 Texas A&M signee was the No. 4th nationally and No. 3rd overall ranked receiver in his cycle.

I think you give Fickell and Co. the benefit of the doubt at this point. He doesn't seem big on entitlement. If the kids helps you win you play him. If he doesn't I don't expect he will get many snaps.

Interesting. Maybe he won't live up to his high school ranking, but he might not need to to make an impact in our depleted WR group.

UC is not in a position to turn away that type of talent.

While I generally agree with the premise you are stating, I think WR is the one position group you can get away with doing this. Anymore teams are playing 7-10 guys throughout the game. With our numbers I don't think he will take any significant snaps away from anyone.

Hopefully Savage will help stretch the field for us.

Is he a slot or an outside receiver. I keep hearing people say that we are not getting separation on the outside. This may help to fix.

Outside guy. He's got the size too at 6 foot 3.

This is one depth chart dated 6/3/2017. Time will tell us how our true freshmen and transfers will fit in.

Just a hunch but I don't think Carter Jacobs is the backup at RT, unless our situation is more dire than originally thought.

If he can help stretch the field by drawing some help over the top 10-15 snaps a game and catch 20-30 passes for us, it would be a big help. I doubt we are bringing him in with the expectation of him being a starter, but it seems like he could fill a need for us.

Can't hurt... Assuming he doesn't do something stupid/crazy off the field.

He has his degree so he did some work although graduating from UL is not a real tough task.
