The peak of NIU football. Ahhh that was an amazing run. And despite the final score, I was very proud of our Huskies that day.
Just a note...you can tell the difference between Florida State players and MAC players just from that picture...their RB is larger than one of our linebackers smh
Lets go Huskies !

How many NFL players were on that FSU squad vs. how many NIU players had on theirs?

I mean just in offensive skill players they had EJ Manuel (QB), Devonta Freeman (RB), Kelvin Benjamin (WR), Rashad Greene (WR), Rodney Smith (WR), Nick O'Leary (TE). They all made active NFL rosters. Several other guys were practice squad and CFL guys. I'm too lazy to look up their defense but my guess is that 75% of their starters probably made active NFL rosters.

I wonder how differently the game would have been if Doeren coached it.

I think that was one of the better coached games by Carey. What I wonder is how it may have gone had Harnish been QB.

Yeah...I'm not sure what else you expect a coach or team to do with the talent disparity? Hard to criticize much of our effort/coaching in that game. They had crazy talent and were motivated as they were finally back in the national spotlight. I'll always be proud of what we showed in that game.
On their 3 big TD runs (I think there were 3?) our guys got absolutely blown up and worn down.
Yeah, if Lynch has a better day, the final score is closer.

I never watched it after being there. I watched some on Youtube about a week ago, about 7 min Q, continuous play. I never realized how good the play calling was, namely in the 3rd. Some drops, then INT by Lynch when 2 others were open did NIU in. They score there, that was a game til the end I think. Maybe a win. You have FSU thinking. Then they were driving after FSU scored and then that BS fumble call.
