RE: Preseason Massey Ratings
Interesting. I'm sure everyone thinks their team is better than polls say, but no way ULM is that bad. I think we finish 4th or 5th in conference and challenge Ark St. for the West Division title next year.

Will say this, believe you have perhaps the best coach ever in Monroe. He is a winner and will continue to win. I have no doubt that your team will turn around and do very good things. Hope it doesn't include us.

Great starting place for APP. If they beat Georgia, they will be ranked sooner rather than later.

I agree with you. He has a great staff, recruits very well (including Monroe and Louisiana), and is a winner unlike our last two losing service academy coaches. It may not be this year, but I promise you it's coming. Even on Underdog Dynasty podcast they say in the future it Arkansas St. and ULM will be the class of the west division. Also I know for a fact we have games scheduled after 2020 that haven't been announced. We aren't going anywhere, much less dropping to FCS. The fact we are paying our new baseball coach and AD what we are paying them is encouraging as well.

You guys beating UGA wouldn't surprise me at all. You guys are stacked and I'm glad we don't play you this year. Don't we would have your number like we have in the past.

ULM does play App this year in Monroe. App plays UGA, but Troy doesn't. Were you talking about ULM not playing Troy?

Sorry I got confused. Yes, I was meaning Troy. Glad we don't play them and wish we didn't play App. Lol. You guys have a great chance of beating UGA as well. App and Troy both loaded this year. My bad, sorry.

like most, I think ULM has a good coach, but your record wont reflect it this year( as you said), so its hard to say how bad others, including polls, should view ULM knowing the record will be really bad. as for UD podcast, I take their multiple years out projections with a half grain of salt. they barely can figure out this current year, outside of the top 3. everyone is excited at the start of a new year, and you should be no different with the direction of you program going forward.

I am in agreement about ULM. I think there's no question they'll be better. This appears to be a team with very good chemistry, unlike some past teams.

The question is, will the record reflect it? ULM has a very difficult OOC schedule this year, with no FCS teams. And outside of missing Troy, the league schedule doesn't do them any favors either.

The conference opener in Cajun Country is going to say plenty about both teams and their fate this season.

RE: Preseason Massey Ratings
I don't think our record will be "really bad". I'm thinking 5-7, 6-6. Could be wrong, but don't see us worse than 4-8. If we can sneak up on Memphis or Southern Miss, it may give us a little confidence going into to conference play. Going to be tough, but we're seeing some good things in camp right now. Coaching, chemistry and our S&C are soooo much better with our current staff. We have almost no seniors. Lots of solid young players with another year in the system only bodes well for the near future. Toss in a few quality transfers and JUCOs, and we might be better than expected. We are excited for our future for the first time in a while. That's not a bold prediction as a lot will have to go our way to get there this year. Add to that, the SBC is much better from top to bottom than it has been in years past.

Very well said Riskman. I agree with everything you said. I think the wildcard is if Alabama RB transfer Derrick Gore is as good as we hear he is. Interestingly, even though we have a stable of good running backs already on the roster, he already appears to be the starter in camp and I hear he is a game changer.

This ranking will most likely result in an 8-4 year for the Vandals and a bowl game. Hopefully, we can deliver two more Ws against MWC this year, one during the year and one in the Potato Bowl!

Said it a few times already but I'm very happy to get ULM in Moscow this year. ULM and USA are the 2 teams I think will be quite a bit better.

The conference rankings also stood out. CUSA is ranked below the SBC. Any games against the MAC are going to be crucial this year. I just don't know what to make of WMU this year after so many losses of personnel and players.

Go Vandals.

Surprised to see the MAC higher but they are getting a big bump from WMU that will come back to earth soon as their coach with the P5 recruiting ability is gone. As the talent drops back as it did last year so will they. They were the worst team in college football before Fleck.

Two things I dont know is how Idaho players are going to react this season and can GS's OC turn us around before the Indiana game and league play.
