DI High-major - Minnesota
Goes without saying, that's my team. Breakthrough season last year. Shoulda, coulda in March Madness round of 64 ... refs threw the game by fouling Murphy out early. Looking for improvement this year. Pitino could be gone if they make the Sweet Sixteen. Could be the South Carolina of next year's tournament??

DI Mid-major
Don't really have a team to root for here. Guess I have to root for the MVC, since NDSU is in the MVFC. Will be interesting to see who fills the void at the top now that Wichita is gone ... Missouri St? N Iowa?

DI Low-major - NDSU, Summit League, and UND
NDSU obvious, as well as any team from the Summit. And UND because I like to see both flagships from my birth state do well. No idea if they'll contend for the Big Sky or not, or even how they did last year ...

DII/DIII - any Minnesota schools from Northern Sun (DII mostly public) and MIAC (DIII private)
MIAC schools are usually in the DIII playoffs ... not as certain about the NSIC teams in the DII playoffs. Don't follow them, but wish them the best.

Ask again at the end of October, the beginning of November when many of us are beginning to think of basketball. At this point, I haven't given it a thought.

1) Chicago State - Even if they go winless, I enjoy this a lot. I love watching games at the Convo - one of my all time favorite arenas. Plus, I love going to buy road games since so many are local. Finally, I love the WAC home slate. I find each WAC program intriguing.

2) NIU - This is by obligation and I don't really enjoy it. Not so much because it's a dead program (so is CSU), but because I have no desire to drive out there to see the teams NIU schedules and there's nothing interesting about MAC hoops.


My bucket list this year:
1) Hopefully the ESPN 24-hour tipoff has a Midnight or 2:30am game in the midwest I can drive to. I really want to go to a game in the middle of the night.
2) Any midwestern mid-major if schedule allows. I just have to get off my butt and drive - cut the tv addiction.

You actually, physically go to the Chicago St campus?? Please be careful ...
