Clemson is tough to predict this year only because of the QB position. Just find a guy who can make a few throws to keep the defense honest and doesn't turn the ball over. The defense was top 10 last year and should be even better this year. Deon Cain will probably have a great year and Renfrow will continue to drive daggers into opponents' hearts. Here's my best guess:

Kent State - Who?!?! Body bag game, lots of subs log lots of snaps. Win.
Auburn - Scariest game on the schedule. Stidham is the piece that was missing last year for Auburn, but he didn't exactly face a good defense in the Big12. Defense and home field advantage will be the difference. Win (a nail-biter at home).
@Louisville - 2nd scariest game on the schedule. Jackson is an amazing talent. Loss.
BC - Not worried about this one. Win.
@VT - Blacksburg is always a tough environment, but the Tigers are probably hitting mid-season stride at this point. Win.
WF - Win.
@Syracuse - Win.
GT - Venables has figured out Johnson's offense the past few years. Win.
@NCSU - This will be a tough game, but Clemson will not be caught off guard after last year's game. Win.
FSU - Another clash of the titans. I'm going with FSU on this one just because they have an experienced QB and we do not. Loss.
Citadel - Unlike that school down the road, this is an automatic win for Clemson. Sorry, couldn't resist that jab 03-wink Win.
@USC - Our feathered friends will want this one bad after last year's beat-down. By this time, the QB position should be settled and the talent gap is still too wide. Win.

Talent gap is very real. Clemson should be elite on defense and South Carolina is weak on the lines of scrimmage. My prediction is mostly based on the fact that South Carolina is going to be better at QB, home crowd (particularly if it's a night game), and South Carolina wanting it more.

If USC is 7-4/6-5 ish and ESPN/SEC give us a night game I truly believe that will be the most hostile Williams Brice has ever been.

Go Vols!

At GT - W 28-15
Indy St W 48-24
At Florida W 30-28
UMass W 38-17
Georgia W 33-32
South Carolina W 33-32
At Ala L50-17
At KY L 20-10
USM W 30-20
At Mizzou W 33-20
LsU W 24-17
Vandy W 23-20

We are ready for GT in a bowl type setting. We start hot and then get hammered by Bama, lose to Bama again the next week and the loss to KY puts Jones on an even hotter streak, but we recover to finish 10-2, with wins over Florida/Georgia. But we are 6-2 and so Florida/Georgia go to the championship game. We wind up in a Big 6 game and win.

(Atlanta) Florida State - W by 7
Fresno State - W by 24
Colorado State - W by 31
@ Vanderbilt - W by 14

@ Texas A&M - W by 13

@Auburn - W by 9

Right now, Florida State looks like the best game on the schedule and it's always hard for me to pick against my Tide, but this one is a toss up in my mind. So I'm going with a one possession game either way.

Vanderbilt could be sneaky this year.

LSU will be really hyped this year and might have a more open offense and respectable QB unlike what Les Miles brought to the table. I'm not saying I believe in Ed Orgeron, but I don't think he's the same guy that torpedoed Ole Miss.

Under Dan Mullen, MSU has not matched up with us well despite usually be labeled a trap game. This year could be different if we have an emotional and close win over LSU while going to Starkville the next week. Nick Fitzgerald will have to play lights out.

Auburn is the tricky one. Stidham could end up having a fine season if Chip Lindsey gets control of the offense and revamps the passing attack. Bama has been somewhat weak in the secondary the last 2-3 years and this is where you can beat us. If Malzahn insists on doing most of the play-calling and reverts back to relying on option plays with a QB that isn't known to particularly run well then this could be a long game for Auburn.

I think Alabama's most difficult games are FSU, @A&M, and @Auburn. I think you'll beat FSU. @A&M and @Auburn will be tough but even if you lose one Alabama will still be back in the SEC Championship for a chance at the playoff. (I also think UT will be tough this year but Bama will have no problem with them at home)

The real question who is who is going to win the east? I think it is a toss up between UF, UGA, and UT.

Unfortunately I can't be there.

I'm well aware of the losses to ECU - that's one reason Hokie fans knew it was time for Beamed to retire. It might have been different if the Pirates had been winning conference championships and playing in NY6 bowls, but they weren't.

I wouldn't count Kentucky out in the east.

@USM 4:00 W
Sep 9 EKY 12:00 W
Sep 16 @SC W
Sep 23 FLA. L
Sep 30 EMU. W
Oct 7 MIZ W
Oct 21 @MSST W
Oct 28 TENN W
Nov 4 MISS W
Nov 11 @VAN W
Nov 18 @UGA L
Nov 25 LOU L

Their toughest conference road game is @Georgia in November. They get Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss & Missouri at home. Get a W @South Carolina in their conference opener & their schedule looks good.

I think Kentucky could be a surprise team this year, but I don't think they're quite ready to get over the hump. They lost a good bit on offense. Wouldn't be shocked to see them finish 3rd in the division though.

With no Alabama, Auburn, LSU or A&M on their schedule if they are ever going to win the east this would be the year to do it. The SC & Tennessee games will be pivotal for them I think. They showed a lot of development over last season, can they continue & build on that?

I think the East will beat up on itself this year. My pick is Georgia comes out on top, but I think it may go down to the last conference weekend to find out who wins it.

The Cocktail Party is huge. I think Kentucky, Tennessee, and maybe even South Carolina will all be competitive with Florida and Georgia.
