RE: FB Camp Thread
Very curious to hear about Yannik Rohrschneider as well. Seems more and more of these big German & European kids have American football aspirations.
Yannick (@yannikdp77) has probably had better training than the vast majority of American HS Olinemen.
See his twitter and workout references to LeCharles Bentley (@OLineWorld65), the preeminent OL training guru. Ralph Llanos (@LLP_germany) is the LeCharles Bentley of Germany, and Yannik's primary trainer apparently. High level stuff.
We should probably send our OLine coach to spend a week with Bentley @LBOlineDesign, @OLineWorld65

Really tough to evaluate these guys. But hey, we may have struck lightning twice with Nielsen and Sow. Let's see how they do when the season starts.
They both obviously have the size and athleticism, just may take some time to perfect the techniques and nuances of the game at this much higher level.
Fingers crossed.
If Sow is the most prepared to start, then so be it. I am assuming he's a year older than the typical freshmen. Don't Canadian kids do an extra year of school? According to his bio he also played in some All-Star type games. The reality is that the other guys, except Armstrong and Liatiota don't have much game experience either. Bukowski is listed as the first LT in the media guide depth chart. That depth chart doesn't mean much though.
Etough, after a week of practice do you know who is emerging as the starting five on the line?
Next year we could be looking at four returning starters on the ol. That would be a good thing considering we will have a new QB.

Really hasn't changed much from a month ago, but should be sorting itself out now that we have pads on, 3 weeks from kickoff.
Tallman at C
Leatiota, Donnellon, Hickey at G
Nielsen, Armstrong, Bukoski........and now Sow at T
Trying to figure out if Van Hoeven, Smith Jr., Rohrschneider, or anyone else has a shot at the 2 deep.

Let me take a guess:
Starting five might be okay, but depth is a real problem?

They used to have a 13th grade in Ontario and Quebec back in the day when Perles used to raid Canada for MSU. That's been gone almost 10 years now.

Watch the film. Unless his feet and athleticism get significantly better, no way he could play in Big 10 or Pac 12.

Hey ETOUGH,
Out of curiosity, did you play on the O-Line in highschool or college? You seem pretty knowledgeable in that position.

Nah, skinny D3 wideout, haha. Just seen a lot of football having played since 8, raising 2 boys who played since pee-wee, and continuing to follow it closely with 1 still playing. Coached up some damn good pee-wee teams back in the day as well!

Have they ever thought of maybe moving Chris Hendricks back to the offensive line from the defensive line?

With Dawson, Granger, McLean, and Dunlap all senior defensive tackles I would think they would want Hendricks sticking with defense.

Haven't seen anyone else bring it up, but Dieuly Aristilde has been practicing throughout camp. In a tweet from a few weeks ago, he told a fan he's at 100% and is 'already faster than last year.'
That's good news.

Absolutely fantastic news. We will have one of the best groups of skill position players in the conference. Let's hope the OL gels enough for Roback to have time to take advantage.

I don't think I've seen Sam Dervil's name mentioned among the OL.
