UTEP plays at Norman again in 2022. Kugler will be in his 10th year and the Miners will be favored over the Sooners. Yep, that will happen. 04-rock

Well, if you're REALLY interested... About President Lamar

Trivia: Lamar University was once known as LIT (Lamar Institute of Technology)

Don't care about most of these games, but UTSA (or pretty much any team for that matter) wont be able to block Oliver plus while they're worried about him, the rest of our defense will be running wild.

On the other side of the ball, Allen and our receivers shouldn't have much of a problem with UTSA' s secondary.

RE: CUSA Lines in The Sand - Week 1
Stanford vs Rice: Have no expectation that the Owls will win
FIU @ UCF: Panthers will likely show up, but Knight's too strong
Charlotte @ Eastern Michigan: EMU's outperformed last year
Lamar @ North Texas: should be easy. Lamar last in SWAC
Navy @ FAU: Would love to see the upset, but Kiffin goes 0-1
Alabama A&M @ UAB: Not going to be easy, but Blazers win!!!!
UTEP @ Oklahoma: Miners can't compete at this level, yet
Kentucky @ Southern Miss: Not a given by any means.
Albany @ Old Dominion: Bigger challenge than you imagine.
Miami (OH) @ Marshall: Scary opener against improved Miami.
Northwestern St @ La Tech: Should be an easy win
EKU @ WKU: Don't expect this to be close.
Vanderbilt @ MTSU Blue Raiders MUST win this one
Houston at UTSA: Possible upset, but think Cougs get it done

8-6 for CUSA, in my opinion. But I don't feel strongly about several of those predicted win. May be a tough opening week.

I expect one of those two statements to be true. Can you take a wild stab at which one?

UHs endowment vs USMs endowment says otherwise.

Not really sure what UH's endowment has to do with your IQ or reputation, but ok.

Man you guys are early on this, give me a few weeks from your runner up last season and champion year prior....I need to see Vegas spreads and study a little bit more before I go all in on Week 1, we still have 20 more days until Rice squares off...

A few observations and questions...

First if Lamar kicks a field goal against North Texas I will be shocked. We have a very nasty defense this season. In fact I think it may be better then our 2013 defense.

What makes you think FIU will beat UCF, on the road no less?

I doubt UTSA will beat Houston, certainly not by by 18 points.

Why do you have the WKU score that close? Is EKU a decent FCS team?

I think the UAB game could go either way. Just can't tell much about UAB until we see them on the field.

Well, we did beat them a couple years ago, on the road. Plus they lost to a Arky State team without Ryan Aplin so yeah...

The series is currently 2-3 in UCF's favor.

People are sleeping on Butch and that's fine with me. I know if our team in 2015 could beat them under Ron Turner, also at their home opener, we could do it under Butch this year.
