Think we can get Walt Maddox back to Birmingham for all this Talk. He is well very, kwoledgebale on all this. He has to chose sides, He knows the History of Both Sides. Let Lance Swanner and Walt Maddox discuss this. If you don't know who Lance is he is a top Attorney out of Dothan who Graduated from UAB and was president of his Frat. The Delta Sigs.

Walt is looking at a possible run for Governor. My guess is that he wouldn't want to touch this subject with a stick, and I wouldn't blame him.

RE: Cuts could "potentially close down Legion Field"
I suggested some years back that UAB should cut a deal with the city for the whole park on which Legion Field sits and turn it into a West Campus - essentially doubling the campus footprint of undergrad UAB. The new UAB bus system makes this even more attractive as additional lots could be bought up to make the two even closer to being connected.

As for the Bryant monument, leave it alone since UAB does not need to go back to making Bama fans think Bryant, Jr had a valid point in attacking UAB. Like with Moretti's lions, just let it be. There is nothing to be gained by "poking people in the eye" just because you can.

For the foreseeable future, Legion Field will remain UAB's home field so we should make the best of it. The city will keep it up but not spend millions to improve it with the BJCC considering a new stadium (some day). It is likely that this year's incoming frosh will play their senior season in Legion Field. The only realistic variable is annual rent which may rise if the other games (MCC / B'ham Bowl) are lost to other (probably out of state) sites.
