He went from the worst looking yard to the best looking yard in the neighborhood, when the new grass grew in the following year.
That used to be a pretty common practice, and effective.

Drove from charlotte to space center on Saturday. Rained from charlotte to St. Augustine, noticed a lot of new leaves coming out on the Maple trees.

clt says leaves are at 70.3% now. Creek is flowing in the back of the compound after two days of rain.

WW says send the rain to South Texas. Plenty of cold then warm fronts but no rain in the last month. We are on the cusp of a long, hot, dry summer here in San Antonio. WW chose the wrong year to put out some sod.

clt says sod in south Texas has to be ambitious. Any cacti on your environs?

Yes! Across the street is a green belt. There are at least three patches of prickly pear and one patch of agave. I have been cultivating some live oak, monterrey oak, and a few burr oak saplings for some time. Shade is a good thing in South Texas. Shade is the reason for the sod. I have areas where grass doesn't grow well due to so much shade.
Thanks for sending the rain this way. We got a cold front through around 3 this afternoon with thunderstorms. I dropped to a chilly 59 degrees with a bit of wind this afternoon. I should have worn a jacket as my T Shirt and shorts weren't enough. Good rain and all at once going with the San Antonio tradition.

clt doesn’t control the weather anymore. Sadly.
Hope you are kidding about needing a jacket for 59.

Not kidding about the jacket. 59 degrees and a lot of wind. We have thin blood here in South Texas. After the rain, mosquitoes are abundant. Using my mosquito trap to thin them out.
