RE: 2018 Football Recruiting Rankings
I'm particularly pleased with UCONN and Edsall so far considering our last 4 classes were ranked 91, over 100, 99, and over 100. During the Edsall old Big East years, his classes were generally ranked in the mid-60's to low-70's. Seems like he's still got it.

Nobody under 60 will end up finishing as low as they currently are.

Rivals hasn't rated 5 of our 8 commits yet so we will rise. No worries.

With Cincinnati at #1 with a average rating of 2.73....quality not quantity...

4 of our recruits dropped from 3 stars to 2 stars after committing to UCONN. Average rating can be just as deceiving...

2018 Football Recruiting Rankings
While Alabama is still hovering in the 50's, I'm taking these lists with a grain of salt.

Way too early to depend on recruit rankings.

ECU had several recruits unranked and recently jumped to #54 on 247 and #49 on Scout after they were ranked. That rating is artificially high because ECU now has 18 ranked commits. I expect it to fall a good bit as other teams fill out their class.

Rivals by comparison has ECU with 12 ranked commits. It's a giant shell game. HuskyU's point about stars dropping happens all the time when players don't breathe the ratified air of the P5*

They've only landed 7 recruits so far. The size of the class skews the numbers in the rankings. For instance, UH has 20 recruits so far vs. 16 for Cincincinnati. The more important number to look at is the composite average of the recruits in each class.

Alabama will likely take a smaller than usual class than usual this year. As a result, they are being very guarded about when and whom they hand their schollys to. Later in the recruiting cycle they'll start getting commits left and right to fill their targeted max for the year.

RE: 2018 Football Recruiting Rankings
A good comparison of where you would rank by seasons end is to take your composite score from this year and see where it would rank among last year's final results.

At the rate UCF is going we won't have as good a class as last year, but we do have five less scholarships to give

You only have about 5 more you can take. Your composite score is not high enough to finish near the top right now so you'd have to land only monster recruits from here on out and/or hope everyone else loses their better recruits and are unable to get anyone else decent.

Right, later in the recruiting cycle.

RE: 2018 Football Recruiting Rankings
I'm biased, but if I'm betting on it, I would say Cincinnati will finish the class ranked on top. Our average is tops in the AAC according to most recruiting services and we are on the final lists of a lot of 4-star and high 3-star recruits.
