Funny to see them still described as a "mid-major". 4 AAC teams in the top 50.

1. Wichita State
11. Cincinnati
41. Temple
48. UCF

The possibility of Wichita State being the best team in the country is not out of the question.

But **** Seth Walder for calling Wichita mid-major.

Also, the fact that TCU is ranked ahead of Cincinnati (#9 vs. #11) and Ohio State is ranked at #29 when they likely won't even make the tournament shows that these rankings are as useless as any other preseason list.

What kind of "mid-major" conference has 4 teams in the top 50 according to ESPN's own ranking system? **** ESPN.

TCU is actually returning a team that can make the tournament

Oklahoma went 11-20 last year and ESPN has them at #8. This is a garbage list.

But they were a quality 11-20. That P5 label really does do wonders.

Haven't seen any writer of substance call us mid-major for a long time now - proud Bowdoin College alumnus and mid-major writer Seth Walder notwithstanding. He couldn't help but betray his not-so-well-hidden agenda: Surprise! Shocking! Noticeable! Jarring! For now anyway! Who on planet earth would be shocked to see us at the top of any list considering what we've done over the last half decade? Give him a break, he has nobody to cheer for in college athletics. He's obviously a little green. His job will be the next to go the moment one more cord is cut.

I agree the list is pretty cloogy. And I don't think TCU will be great. I do think OU could be quite good this year. Not Top 10 good, but Top 25 good would not surprise me.

We haven't beat them since 2011 but you never know in a rivalry game. I think we are going to be a lot better than people think. I'd say we have a puncher's chance.

Oops, my original post was confusing. I meant that Ohio State is likely not a tournament team. I think TCU will make the tournament but I believe Cincinnati is on another level.

If Cincinnati has the 18th best offense in the country, we're in for a rough season of basketball viewing...

Jerry Palm put out a bracketology today at the CBS website:

Wichita St a 2 seed
Cincy a 4 seed
Houston an 11 seed
UCF first four out

I see why Jerry ranks as one of the worst bracketologists in the business. He makes Lunardi look like a genius.

I'm beginning to think you're a good poster around here 04-cheers

Oh, and about that midmajor crap that was said of Wichita State... Don't buy into it, they're just upset at how the AAC is clicking by organizing itself with good proven solid programs.

Half decade sounds much more impressive than 5 years. +1

It was a typo. He meant SMU.
