and?

Sorry, context got lost. He was posting quotes about a team saying "we never lose at home" and "we'll never lose to FCS", but it was another FCS team saying that.

As JHG noted above, Armstead and Jager should both exceed 100 yards rushing on the day. This is the best secondary that we've had in a very long time. We will stack the box and make them throw the ball.

Looking forward to an extremely easy win.

I think it depends on how good Villanova's defense is. The expectation is that they're going to be very good despite the loss of their DE. They have some legit players on that side of the ball that are capable of giving us trouble. If we're out of sync on offense it could be a bit of a struggle.

I agree that Villanova will have a very hard time moving the ball on us. Their QB is rather limited in the passing department and there WR's aren't going to scare us. However, they usually have a good OL and are able to run effectively and bleed the clock.

They're Top 10 preseason in FCS which means they're dangerous. This is the best 'Nova team we've faced since 2010 no question. I'll see them the week before against Lehigh so I'll have a better feel for our game. I'm hoping Lehigh kicks their ass too!

How about the Massey prediction of 38 - 31 Dukes win?

What about it?

Do you think that Massey prediction is going to console you when your incredibly overblown opinion of your football team is ripped apart in front of you in Greenville?

We fielded our worst team in a decade (by FAR) and still managed to beat NC State, who went bowling and beat Notre Dame, UNC, and Vanderbilt. Your team last year (and this year) aren't as good as the 2016 NC State team. Not by a longshot. They were favored by a TD and went home with an L. Just like your guys will.
You did beat State, but did you forget about the other 9 teams you didnt? Good luck to you guys and we will know Sept 2

We were healthy against WCU, State, and then USC. We then basically lost our QB to repeated concussions, and our backup played with an injured shoulder... all of this with no OL, and a terribly depleted defense. The season tanked at that point, and the team quit.

The key being... we were healthy vs State. We are healthy now. (Knock on wood) If we stay healthy until September 2nd, you're in for it.

And if they win, Chappy's going to have to go ahead and settle in, put some family photos up on his bag.

ESPN gives ECU a 63.5% edge over the Dukes w/ only 36.5% likelihood of victory.

That's not an excuse. 5 of the seven were from last year and we were aware of them already. 2 of the five were starters and missed our last 2 games.
One of the ones we were not aware of is a true freshman and most likely was not going to see time against you all. The other one was our tight end that has been injured and hasn't practiced at full speed all of fall camp.

You won't hear excuses as nearly all were known. Dukes will still win. Good luck boys #GoDukes

ECU vs JMU - I think the Dukes will win this one. They're the defending FCS champs and are absolutely loaded. If you can go into the Fargo Dome and win you can easily win at Dowdy-Ficklen. I've been to both places an the Dome is an insanely difficult place to play. I know ECU has never lost to a FCS opponent but if they ever were to this would be it. JMU would be a Top 50'ish team in FBS this year. The Dukes took out SMU a couple of years ago and will get another AAC scalp.

Temple vs Villanova - I don't think it will be easy but Temple should prevail against a defensive minded 'Nova team. I'll see the Wildcats the week before against a very good Lehigh team so I'll have a good gauge what to expect the following week. As good as Villanova's defense will be there offense is extremely average. Their QB is very limited in his ability to attack the field with his arm. I see Temple winning 24-13 but a 'Nova win would not shock me. This is their best chance to beat us since 2010.

UConn vs Holy Cross - Two old New England foes battle it out. Holy Cross has a long history with Boston College but they've bumped heads with UConn over the years too. UConn should win this game but Holy Cross will arguably have the best player on the field, 5th year senior QB Peter Pujals. If the bad Huskies show up this game could at least be interesting.

UCF vs Maine - The Black Bears just missed out on the FCS playoffs last year. The Knights should win by 17+ if they are able to build on last years improvement. However, if they sputter out of the gate this could be one to keep an eye on. The Black Bears are a physical team that won't back down from UCF in the trenches.

So far pretty accurate...

Sorry... but it's not happening, Dukes.

"Zero" chance? If this game was played 10 times JMU would win several if not more than half. Maybe if the crowd gets to actually play they'd be a factor but otherwise the noise won't compare to that tin can up in Fargo. In fact some of y'all sound like some of those Bison fans... "we never lose at home in playoffs"... "we never lose to FCS"... whatevs.

I cannot wait to get this game over with. Some of you JMU fans are just unbearable, you'd probably get more respect from ECU fans if you would just shut up. Some of you act as if your D1-AA team should be in the SEC West.

Your wins again Rhode Island, Morehead State, Delaware, hell even NDSU and YSU don't impress any one over here. I don't have any doubt you are a good team, that is fine, but some of you guys are borderline delusional. As good a season as you had at your level you also got beat by the only D1 team you played by 4 touchdowns, and that was a very mediocre UNC team. Our worst team in over a decade and we still notched an ACC win last year.

While I don't expect a drubbing like we had against WCU and NCCU, I do expect a 2-3 TD win. You guys will play tough, we'll shake the rust off in the second half and our depth on the DL/OL will take over. We'll pull away by a couple of scores by the 4th quarter getting to your QB to force some errant throws and stuffing the run.

Our O will go to mainly a run offense and force it down your throat to run out the game.

Talk about not knowing FCS football...

Bump. Cardon Johnson just had another 80 yard TD.

I don't even want to rub it in ECUGrad07 or DownEastPirates faces, despite their bias or worse, lack of knowledge, I'd love for this to be a regular thing.
