Just another example of him being a winner (I think I heard Satt talk about it in every interview from NO). There's loads of kids out there who would go to Vandy or Kentucky just to say that they play SEC ball, even if those teams tend to be bottom dwellers of the conference.
Teams in our position might have a minuscule advantage (in the 2-3 star market) in that we get the kids that just want to win, not flaunt their P5 gear on social media.

Completely agree with this and I have no doubt his Dad was a good influence on his decision.
It is not only going to a bad P-5 it is also going to a good P-5 where your chances of making the starting line up as a tweener is slim at best. We had a kid flip to uga at the last minute in 2015 ....as a running back. Yes a low three star fell so much in love with the P5 label he went to a team with Nick Chubb and Sony Michele with multiple years of eligibility already on WITH multiple three and four star kids committed for the next year. I mean honestly who was advising this kid? He will likely never see the field at any position. I know a thUGA degree is more valuable but he did not just go there for the academics he did not mention academics as any reason for the flip. If I am not a four star+ level RB I am not trying to go to a uga or AL that get at least one or more four and five star RB's in just about every class. If nothing else they get the nod just from the hype that usually follows them. You dont land the unicorns that are four and especially five stars to have them sit at all. It is one thing to believe in yourself it is another to rationally analyze a situation.

That is one laid back young man. He already sounds like a coach.

A guy that works at one of the shops I call on for work was a walk-on at Va Tech in the 90s. One day it came up that I went to App State and he told me if he could do it all over he would have taken the partial ride offer he received from App or JMU instead of spending three years on the Hokie scout team before quitting with a mound of student loan debt. He never saw the field, rarely traveled with the team, and the coaches didn't care if he got hurt, if they even knew his name. In hindsight, getting playing time at a I-AA winner with the chance to earn a full ride would have beat a P5 anyday. But at 18, the glamour of VT won out

Saw the Satterfields at a social event tonight in Blowing Rock. He blends into a crowd well.
