"CUSA has yet to send a team to a New Year’s Bowl. And against Power 5 competition, the conference has been lacking, going 2-20 in 2016 and 2-23 in 2015. By contrast, the American Athletic Conference, which is aggressively marketing itself as a member of the "P6" has won 19 games against the Power 5 the past two seasons."

Yep, and in bowl games you went 1-4 vs G5.03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao And 0-2 vs. CUSA.

AAC is clearly the 6th best conference. If they want to put a "P" in front of the "6" I've got no real counterargument.

Under what circumstances did I promise to burn my degree?

You got to remember this guy liked Ellis Johnson and his play calling. That is all you need to know...

I defended exactly *one* of Steve Buckley's play calls almost five years ago and you wont let it go, which is pretty bizarre. Maybe I should go buy a PlayStation or whatever it is kids play computer football on nowadays and simulate that play 1,000 times to settle this. Unless and until that happens, I remain unconvinced that your by-the-book, ass-covering offensive philosophy would have resulted in a first down. Kudos to Coach Buckley for actually trying to come up with something that had at least a 10% chance of working.

its certainly going to come down to our QB play this year. everything else should generally be improved from last year. if our QB is competent and doesn't turn the ball over much, then USM can win a whole lot of games this year. if the QB is fumbling, throwing ints and struggles throughout....then could be as low as 6-7 wins. our schedule is so weak, i think the rest of the team could carry us to 6-7 victories. heck, this ain't ellis johnson coaching. not that hopson is fedora or monken.....but NO-ONE is ellis johnson (and staff).

You mean as opposed to last year when our QB threw 3 ints in the first half alone? We beat KY on the line of scrimmage and in off season work outs and conditioning last year IMO. I give USM a better shot than most with this years game being played in the 3 p.m. heat of Hattiesburg.

If WKU loses to Illinois that's more of a statement than winning.

Just every time a new member joined the league that you thought was beneath USM.

I'm guessing getting beat by 3 "start ups" last year was a bit humbling for you.

We went 1-1 last year.

The 'Pretend 6th' has been overrated for a few years. They suck in bowl games.

03-lmfao...Need anyone say any more...unbelievable stupidity. No doubt the worst play call in college football history and this tool is still to this day defending it. To you guys that either don't know what I am referencing of have forgotten, Our wonderful head coach, the one who took a conference champion with most everyone back and a 12-2 record the previous year, and went to 0-12. He called timeout on 4th down in a monsoon rain against top ten Louisville and came up with this brilliant play with 7 yards to go for a first down...A half back pass against the grain in a rain so hard you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, and of course, it was about twenty yards short and a duck to boot. Needless to say they went on to win after we were ahead most of the game...Andrewhere defends the call to this day.

Isn't every game against a P5 an opportunity to make a statement?
