RE: Prefer to win - SHSU or RU?
I will be tailgating for this game with a big cup o' hemlock. I would prefer both teams to lose, but if you put a gun to my head... I guess I would choose SHSU only because I hate them less than I hate RU. Conference affiliation/SOS be damned.

If the Dukes play up to their potential (and I have no doubt they will), we will be a top seed, if not THE top seed come playoff time. We won't need SOS to parlay into a playoff seeding. If SOS becomes a factor we need to talk about this season, then it will be a very disappointing season indeed.

RU...SHSU fans were even bigger d*cks than the sweatervests.

That, and CAA always in OOC.

Not sure I'll ever root for RU to win, but I'll certainly be rooting for SH to lose. Big difference.

I do that all the time when the New England Cheaters are on the field. Also, I never ever pull for someone to go down with an injury, but you better believe I want some players to be completely undressed on the field and done so often they no longer want to play the game.

What's sad is that I don't have this feeling about any team JMU faces. While the RU fans are "turble" winners and losers, their players are to be respected. Much the same when ODU was around, their fans were the worst I've ever been around in a much different way than the RU fans, but I never had bad things to say about their team.

When I see the final score of this game, I'll say, "hum, how 'bout that."

As much as I hate Richmond, I'd love to see them completely shutdown that fraud of a Payton award winner Briscoe.

Yeah, I'd rather we shut down an opposing team's star player than him not play due to injury. While I do think Briscoe was hampered slightly by injury- there is no way you can pin that total domination on any one player. But if he hadn't played there would have all kinds of "we would have won with Brischoe" whining from SHSU fans. Same goes for NDSU, the excuses of "if our all-American would have played blah, blah, blah". I rather teams be at full health.

I'm just excited to see a high level non-conference match up between 2 teams we have recent history with. If the Ticks win big, that should shut up the SHSU fans who think our game in the playoffs was a fluke.

I hope you're a better person than this post shows. Pulling for the Ticks to be undefeated? For shame.

I'd get more satisfaction of us ruining their so-far undefeated season than beating an 0-10 team. Having said that, if they aren't undefeated when they play us, then 0-10 is fine by me.

Let them go get beat by a team w absolutely mopped the floor with.

If this season goes the way I believe it will, our SOS will not matter, because we will have lost 1 game tops.

This. If Mussolini was at QB, Slobodan Milosevic at RB, and Keeler stepped aside for one week to let Baalzebub call the plays, I still couldn't root for the Ticks. It doesn't matter anyway, because SHSU will run up a bunch of fancy stats during the regular season and they'll get slotted against a Patriot League or MEAC team and get embarassed again.

Bob Black is interviewing KC Keeler on AM950 in Richmond now. Keeler is a complete tool. Made at least 4 excuses as to why they should not have been the #5 seed last year and how they had to change their exam schedules around to come to JMU and waah, waah, waah.

I (deep breath) hope the ticks leave a bite mark on Sunday night.

I'm not sure what the reason behind our suspensions are, but I don't think it's a stretch to say a coach like keeler would do everything in his power to cover it up and keep them playing. The massive difference between Houston and Keeler.

I think we're all going to need therapy after this one. I feel emotionally scarred already from having to root for those losers.

He's right, they shouldn't have been the #5 seed.
They shouldn't have been seeded at all!

That is a huge stretch.
Houston has no choice in the matter for NCAA suspensions.

Street drugs = 50% of a season by NCAA policy on the first offense.
If it was a JMU drug test it would be one game for the first offense and then 50% of the season for the 2nd offense.

I would prefer RU issue a beat down to the Soft Houston Kitties, would love to see a 20+ point MOV.

Tics all the way despite my disdain for them
A win by the spiders over SHSU could give us a buffer for a top 2 seed come playoff time if we drop a CAA game so long as we still beat Richmond ourselves
It can only help us
SHSU winning does nothing positive for JMU
