Olootu's lift at 301 was super impressive. And Sutton Smth looks like a mound of muscle. I'm really curious to see how he gets used. Such a good athlete, but no true position.

100% agree on Olootu. Very surprised he was capable of that lift

Sutton definitely is a freakish looking dude. Maybe this will be his breakout year.....

Smith and Jawuan Johnson are my X-factor guys. I think both have big play potential, and if just one of these guys can fulfill it I think it could be a really big bonus for the defense.

I agree about Johnson as a potential star ( is that the kiss of death?) If Bobby Jones IV can stay healthy he's looking like a beast too. I think the back seven on D are going to be very good to best in MAC

Bobby Jones looks like a man amongst boys these days. He's a dark horse NFL talent to me. He's played in every game since his freshman year if I'm not mistaken.

he's definitely a stud and i do agree that he has one of the better shots at getting into a NFL camp among our seniors this year.
however, didn't he get hurt last year and miss half of the season? He has definitely played a ton of snaps in his career but I'm almost positive he has missed games due to injury

I know he's a DE. I'm more interested in how he will be used situationally. Obviously he will be in on third and long or obvious passing situations, but could they drop him back into a zone coverage or something like that. I'm Hoping they find a way to utilize his athleticism. If he's strictly just a one-hand-on-the-ground DE, he can be a liability in the run game. He will get engulfed. He's giving up 100lbs to tackles.

RE: Boys are looking Strong
And before you say - he'll only be in on passing situations - I'm not so sure that 3 and 6 is a passing down if the O thinks they can run over a safety sized D-end and pick up 6-7 yards. If he's limited to 3rd and 10 or longer, it's going to be VERY situational, like only 7 plays a game. It's just unusual to have a DE who is smaller than the LBs behind him. I'm just curious how it plays out.
