I think the target is to maintain the revenue stream for USF, Cinci, and UConn, only now every member will see the same. That is a good, visible goal to reach and the numbers prove we've earned to make that much.

Couldn't agree with you more, Kruciff

A GOR should be Mike Aresco's next move... I mean, if everyone wants a better tv deal than man up and show the networks, fans and the league you (AAC programs) are committed.

They already know we are committed until 2025.

... so if the big12 invites UCF say next season, who is UCF committed to then?? Bet is not the AAC

Espn just paid the big 12 in a shakedown to not expand. Everyone is staying for a while. They are not expanding.

I'm well aware of this ^^^

Staying together for while (your words) simply b/c the high revenue conferences are not expanding is not the definition of commitment I would buy into.

I don't see any program doing it but the commitment the AAC must have is turning down any of the high revenues invitation.

That right there ^^^ is commitment tv networks could very much respect, IMO

Meanwhile...

http://www.espn.com/college-football/sto...ll-playoff

"We should play all teams in the Power 5 conferences," Saban said Wednesday. "If we did that, then if we were going to have bowl games, we should do the bowl games just like we do in the NCAA basketball tournament -- not by record but by some kind of power rating that gets you in a bowl game. If we did that, people would be a little less interested in maybe bowl games and more interested in expanding the playoff."

"Saban suggested a 10-game SEC schedule, for example, plus two Power 5 nonconference opponents during the regular season. Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher on Tuesday expressed similar thoughts to ESPN about nonconference scheduling in the playoff era."

The Separation & $$$$ Gap Between the P5 & the G5 will get wider.

U thunk' P5 will split its share from 5 ways to 6 ways?

Eventually, whether u folk's admit it or not,
Once da' G5 gets "Shut out" from P5 opportunities
G5 will have to have its own playoff to survive as a secondary D 1 division

correct. If things stay stable, and we continue to win, We will get a decent bump. Only question is, what is a decent bump? and is it enough to separate from G4.

Considering separation already exists, any bump in pay will still be separation.

Nobody is going to sign a GOR unless the P5 all sign a statement saying they won't invite any AAC teams to join them for X number of years. And we'd be foolish to sign unless that happens.

Saban's views carry a lot more weight than Aresco's. This is the reality that our P6 campaign is facing. 07-coffee3
