Saints O didn't get going till late in the 4th...almost garbage points...

I'm just pissed at the Defense.. we got PROMISED a huge improvement in defense, and we got the same ol' same ol'.

But I will say I wasn't surprised by my boys lack of offense. I kinda knew that the Vikings were pretty much gonna kill whoever was in our backfield...

Bill O'Brien is lauded as some sort of QB whisperer. But his stint in Houston hasn't yielded any results. Now, when he finally has a QB to nurture in Watson, his plan is to throw in to the wolves behind that porous O-line? I'm confussed.

Bengals were robbed. There were a bunch of clearly questionable calls...

RE: 2017-18 NFL Thread
Can the league go ahead and pull the plug in Thursday Notprepared Football? Granted, last night's game did not feature two great teams, but that was hard to watch. So hard that I didn't even tune into the second half. It's just bad football. The players aren't ready, the coaches aren't ready, it's just terrible.

I wonder if they could arrange the schedule so that the Thursday teams are coming off bye weeks. That would be the only way to save it IMO.

RE: 2017-18 NFL Thread
thought it was interesting the other night watching the most recent ESPN 30 for 30 on the Redskins replacement team 30 years ago.

Saw an interesting point. The problems that the Cowboys are facing right now with Ezekiel Elliott can be somewhat traced back to what Tex Schram did 30 years ago.

What is amazing about the whole thing with the Cowboys 30 years ago- I never put 2 and 2 together with the Cowboys in the replacement games and Tom Landry's demise. Going into that MNF game with the Redskins on the last night of the strike- Landry was 243-142-6(.629). From that point on, Landry would go only 7-20(.259). (it was SO great in the 30 for 30 seeing guys like Mark May make fun of Dallas for losing to the Redskin replacement players).

In San Diego, a lot of people are rooting for the team playing against the Chargers. I think I should do the same.

How many good O-lines are there in the NFL this year? There might be fewer good O-lines than QBs. (And there will be even fewer healthy good QBs if the O-line play doesn't improve.) So many O-lines are just outmatched by the opponents' defensive front seven.

And a lot of people in LA, at the Chargers game, were also rooting for Miami. Loudest crowd noise of the day was when Chargers placekicker missed a field goal that would have won the game.

Fun fact: They couldn't sell out a MLS stadium; 25K fans in attendance.

Bills @ Panthers was a ugly baby, but it was my baby...

Bills and Panthers defenses played lights out. I'm still not sure what is up with Cam and some of these passes that are WAY OFF.... that easy TD pass should have closed the door on the Bills the way the game was going but instead it opened it up for the Bills final drive that fell just short. Also, with that pass, that was tough break for ECU's Zay Jones's return to NC...just off the finger tips.

Spanos is lucky the NFL works with equal revenue share.

Not many, but isn't on the coach to at least come up with a scheme to compensate for that defect?

Spanos should put the team up for sell. The move has already increased the Chargers valuation. No need to keep a product that he can't maximize anymore.

I think the NFL made the Rams and Chargers agree that they couldn't sell their franchise for several years after moving to LA.

That rings a bell for me too, but I'm thinking Spanos is gonna have to wait a bit before he gets his Los Angeles revenue-bump. Hard to imagine a potential buyer looking at Sunday's game in Carson and thinking that the Chargers are now more valuable than they were in 2016.

Yes, Spanos is in a far worse position than Kroenke. The Chargers have to play for three seasons in Carson and hope they can at least fill that place in spite of the fact they are not winning and are charging $100 per vehicle for on-site parking. Kroenke doesn't need to sell the Rams ever. He doesn't have cash-flow problems, and even if the Rams don't sell out their games, he can add to his $10 billion-plus net worth with the profit from the development around the Inglewood stadium.

Someone paid a $1B for the Bills. I've got that imagine on location alone the Chargers are worth at least that. But it's clear that Spanos is simply a barnacle just cashing those revenue sharing checks
