I don't understand why the put a 10 year moratorium on a Chargers sell. New ownership would give the NFL the option of fan becoming interested in Charger football again

The NFL did that because they didn't want a franchise moving to LA just to flip the team and cash in.
In the Chargers' case, even though Spanos is a twerp, new ownership doesn't fix the problems of spending three seasons (including this one) at StubHub and being, as Farmer said, the second-banana NFL team in a city that might not even want one.
Would the NFL let Spanos sell if new ownership was going to undo the mistake of moving to LA? Maybe, but it's so far-fetched it's not worth much discussion. AFAIK, no one connected to San Diego who has access to $1.5 billion offered to buy the Chargers and keep the team there during the last few years of melodrama about LA, so it's not going to happen now.

The moratorium was just a defense against what everyone now knows is impossible. Lots of rumbling that owners are wringing their hands over the Chargers. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop the moratorium if it they think it can get the Chargers someplace they're wanted. Or at least, not ignored.

I get that it doesn't fix those issues that Farmer listed. But the LA Chargers under Spanos I don't believe have a chance. His continued stewardship just isn't going to engender fan support.

Concur, I was worried that the league would see a drop in QB play but it looks like the new crop of signal callers will do just fine.

Goodell's wife has been anonymously defending him on Twitter.
Roger Goodell Has a Secret Defender on Twitter: His Wife
Quote:When National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell is under attack, as he so often is these days, @forargument is there to fight back.
Quote:Who is this valiant defender of a man who has so few defenders?
It is Roger Goodell’s wife, Jane Skinner Goodell, The Wall Street Journal confirmed after an examination of the account.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21003...to-defense
Quote:Late last month, when the NBC Sports blog Pro Football Talk tweeted it was "on the commissioner" to mollify the recent national anthem controversy, Goodell used the account to reply.
"Please do better reporting," Jane Skinner Goodell, a former anchor for Fox News before her retirement in 2011, tweeted. "He is already doing this. You are behind."

Eagles look good.
Panthers fell victim to a non-existent running game, some bad passes by Cam ( and Stewart's drop that lead to a pick), and some injuries.
Worst part about tonight's game is Luke has gone back into the concussion protocol again.

Bill Belichick has continually made it clear he’s not afraid to trade away players when the return is right. On Monday night, he proved it once more, shipping homegrown quarterback prospect Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers in exchange for a 2018 second-round pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
However, some thought Garoppolo’s time in Foxborough was over, as a message on his Instagram account said, “So grateful for my time in New England. Peace out Boston." During a March edition of NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Rapoport said there were no trade talks between Cleveland and New England, and sources said the post was a hoax. Don Yee, Garoppolo’s agent, said the quarterback’s Instagram account was hacked, and Garoppolo deleted the post.

I'm surprised all NE got was a 2nd. I honestly have no idea what this means going forward for the Pats.
Also, the Seahawks/Texans game was great. But O'Brien made a BS call by taking the ball out of Watson's hand on that 3rd and 4.

DeShaun Watson tears ACL
Deshaun Watson’s rookie season may be over. The Houston Texans’ starting quarterback reportedly suffered an ACL injury in practice on Thursday and will miss the rest of the season.
Ian Rapoport first reported the injury on Thursday afternoon, which is devastating news for Texans fans and also people who enjoy watching good quarterbacks play football.

was SO glad for Teddy Bridgewater to be active today. Loved how after the anthem was over he went to the bench and had to collect himself pushing away tears of joy. After such a horrific injury- so glad to see him back.
