Has the can do energetic coach improved from the previous coach or simply held serve.

just because your boy Tubby is taking heat is no reason to take it out on Norvelle. Shame on you.

You see I look at Norvelle the same way I look at Tubby. Both did about the same as the previous coach and I am awaiting another season or two before I crown them a success or failure.

No shots no loyalties no differences. Same attitude towards both. Pretty simple logic.

I should try to not make fun of you because your case is more sad than anything. This isn't for you, because you won't understand it, but for the benefit of others.

Norvell
- Good facilities that will improve
- Funding at a fraction of P5 level
- Recruited at a higher level than Fuente AND retained many of his recruits from his first class
- 2nd class rated even higher
- First 3 classes, including 2018 class (I think) all rated higher than every single Fuente class
- Flawless PR skills, excellent interviewer, 100% positive
- Talks glowingly of Memphis being a GREAT job
- Has no Saul on his staff
- Season ticket sales at a record level

Tubby
- Absolute state of the art facilities
- Funding on a P5 level
- Horrible recruiting, and filling holes with Jucos
- Ran off 75% of the roster
- No top 100 recruits 2 and probably 3 years running
- Recruiting in Memphis isn't what it was 10 years ago
- Historical losses to end the season
- ZERO PR skills
- Season ticket sales...let's just say that the university hasn't been falling all over itself making the numbers public

I will introduce another concept that will be completely bewildering to you. It is called reasonable expectations. Based on what Norvell has done, one should reasonably expect that he will be able to continue what Fuente built and one could reasonably expect that he will improve on it. The experts see us winning or finishing in the top 2 of the conference and some are even saying that we have a shot at NY6. The perception of the program is clearly on a high.

Based on reasonable expectations, Tubby has torched the program. The experts are predicting that we are not going to do well at all. Experts' opinion don't mean much, but they do mirror the perception of the program locally and nationally.

Last but not least, what would the state of the program be if both coaches left? Norvell would leave a fully stocked roster which will for sure include very good redshirt freshman and a national perception of a program on the rise. Tubby would leave the program torched.

Quote: Pretty simple logic.

This one made me laugh. You have as much chance of achieving this as you do, flying to the moon in a space ship.

You have serious issues...All those words and for what...But again you are not here to discuss just to agitate.

On a side note have you ever played organized football or basketball

To be fair Tubby is not the sole reason the basketball program is a dumpster fire.

I agree completely, but the infrastructure is there to turn it around quickly.

I think Norvell will be a better HC than Fuente, at Memphis or not at Memphis.

Some folks unhappy with Tubby could not refrain from bringing him up in a thread about Norvell...SMH

The O.P. throws this bait out consistently. The Tubby bashing was the whole point. Nothing got derailed. We definitely know the answer to the happy or sad question. Sad, sad, and more sad.

LOL, we have come to the point where praising a coach is considered "bait" by some posters. The OP made no mention of any other coach but Norvell and referenced a link about Norvell.

Let's stay on topic. For example, what do you think about Norvell's overall job performance? Are you looking forward to the upcoming season? Is there good basis for belief it will be a successful season?
