RE: AAC Member Shortcomings & How to Fix Them
Our President Dr. Khator has made significant improvements but we have a long way to go on many fronts. Aside from the most important stuff like academics we need to do the following in sports.

In no particular order...

1. We really need to start making the NCAA tournament on a consistent basis and win it. Our final four appearances 84, 83, 82, 69, 68 are ancient history. Gotta get back there!

2. We need to win conference Championships in every sport! We have been terrible in women's basketball, softball, volleyball for too long.

3. The golf teams need to win it all. Our 16 national championships in golf are ancient history.

4. We need to win a national championship in Track and field.

5. We need to sustain our success in football and baseball and elevate it. More NY6 wins and somehow find a way to get the Blue blood P5 programs to play us.

6. Keep filling our football stadium and start filling our new basketball arena.

Show some serious improvement in football.

Longer term I'd say rework OOC football scheduling to make it more balanced and reasonable. 1 FCS, 1 G5, 1 mid level P5, 1 major P5.

And WBB. AD Compher isn't going anywhere for a while so learn to love it. Barring some God sent miraculous transformation for Lebo this year, ECU needs to get rid of him no mater the cost. Baseball should be okay. Football I have hope for but this still might not be the year to go bowling. Pirate Club has a new ED Wood and needs some major reorganization. Get the financials in order.

Add Army as a AAC member. It would allow for a P5 OOC game in addition to ND.

Football couldn't be better. And this year should see a record sale of season tickets. I predict football attendance will rival long-time leader ECU.

The university as a whole --- $500 million in academic and capital infrastructure improvement over the next 5 years is in the pipeline.

You may think you're s rival but our BBQ will always be king. The king of the north!!!

That is grammar policing...

My original question mark comment was a way of suggesting that your .600 winning percentage is not that impressive.

But that may also go over your head.

How about having a .667, is that any better? After we curb stomp you scrubs it will go up again. Nope just doesn't have the same feel trolling a crappy football school. Go talk basketball with njredman or the wsu fans or teaching your 3rd grade grammar class.

Tulsa has a football attendance problem. I was surprised at the lack of people at the game last year. I have been hard on Tulsa in the past a laughing hysterically about Tulsane. Tulsa has separated itself from Tulane, but in order to take the next step must consider attendance.

We need to get Tulsans out of their recliner and their butts on a bleacher seat in H. A. Chapman stadium!!! Fill it up and we might get a new one. Beating OSU might get it started. Who dares wins. Attendance has been a problem for all sports here.

Honest question: Did you all really think Tulsa and Tulane were on the same level? No offense to Tulane, but we've generally had the upper hand against them athletically.

Tulsa has always been competitive, so I was personally never too worried about that. My objections to Tulsa joining this conference were related to being a small, private school in a medium-sized market with limited reach. But in retrospect, there is no one outside of BYU and a couple of Mountain West schools that I would have preferred at the time.

Which is why you don't overexpand. Why did the league have to have 12? It'd be stronger and less diluted at 9/10. Look at the Sun Belt versus C-USA. C-USA would be better had it not added the Florida schools and/or given Charlotte time to grow.

I'm not sure if you're suggesting Tulsa shouldn't have been added, or not. But if you are that would be silly. Tulsa has won more conference championshis than any other school since we joined. And we finished 2nd in our football division last year (ahead of the almighty Houston). And would have won the division if not for some officiating gaffes.

He isn't saying you haven't pulled your weight athletically. He is saying adding Tulsa and Tulane were not necessary - and the addition of those schools were not worth slicing the pie by more pieces financially. In that opinion he is almost assuredly correct. The only good reason to have added them is if our TV contract required a certain number of teams.
