Ok. I'll man up. I've made no bones about my dislike for Nancy but this was a class move on her part. She gets a temporary pass...good for one day.

Scalise is currently recovering at MedStar Washington Medical Center from a gunshot to the hip. According to MedStar on July 13, he is in fair condition after he underwent surgery to deal with a deep tissue infection.

Meanwhile a candidate for Jeff Sessions' Senate seat (Rep. Mo Brooks) uses audio from the Scalise shooting in his latest campaign ad. Scalise's chief of staff says the audio makes his stomach turn, and Chris Bond, Scalise’s spokesman, suggested that the use of the footage was ill-advised.

“I guess some people have their own ideas about what’s appropriate, don’t they,” said Bond in an email.
