DT's:
Ladarius Harris 6'1 280
Draper Riley 6'4 304
Rod Clayton 6'1 290
Jauan Collins 6'0 295
Delmond Landry 6'3 308
Andrew Cole 6'4 314
Tahj Sykes 6'3 280
Demario Smith 6'2 264
That's called being loaded at the defensive tackle position. I really like our chances this year in goal line/short yardage situations when you know they are gonna run it.

RE: Front four this year?
None of those guys have shown that they are very good. They have decent size not great size. But aside from Harris, not one of those players has shown the ability to even be an average starting DT on a good team.
Harris is undersized but steady. Decent player, probably should be more a 3rd DT on a good D-Line, but he's not a liability or anything. Riley has the size, but he's been here forever now and I can't think of any game he's had an impact in whatsoever. Crayton is the same thing. Been here forever, hasn't made any plays. Collins hasn't gotten on the field yet, maybe he's something, maybe he's not. Smith played some last year, didn't do anything although he was an extremely undersized true freshman. The other 3 are newcomers. Landry has the size and athleticism, but hasn't played inside until last year as a sophomore in Juco. Sykes looks like a good athlete with enough size, excited about him in the future. But it's hard for a true freshman to make an impact at that position unless he's really special. Cole is really big and has some athleticism, but on tape looked like a project.
So, in my opinion, we have 1 player at the spot that's proved he can be a starting caliber guy. And he hasn't really been much above average if any. The rest are career backups, young guys that have barely played, a Juco that's a bit raw, and freshmen.

It's true- a lot of those guys are TBD. Still though, we're loaded at the position and that's a good thing. Competition breeds success. Last year we had one d-lineman that weighed over 300 lbs (Draper Riley).

I think you're confusing quantity with quality.

Well when somebody says "loaded", I assume they mean quality and quantity. But mostly quality.

RE: Front four this year?
We're running the same type of defense we've been running for like 8 years now. 4-2-5 with a hybrid DE/LB that can make us switch between a 3 or 4 down defense. That is Schrimpshire's position. Harris and Riley at DT. Either Sangster or Boothe at Middle Lb and Ruff will be the other. Same defense that 90% of college football plays. Nickel or Star that lines up to the field.

I'm pretty sure that Collins is no longer with the team. Been gone a while now.
