The coaches want to play each other, which makes sense given our extensive travel itinerary.

And according to the Pilot (see link below), the city has been lobbying for us to play each other at the Scope for years. Doesn't hurt to make the local pols happy.

For other hoops STH, this game is included in the season ticket package. I'm happy to hear that as I'm sure others will be.

Could be worse, we could be playing at Echols.

I think it is a great idea. It's good for the community, gives the team a breather at a good time and the throwback uniforms will be fun. I have fond memories during the Paul Web years sitting in a student section directly behind and next to the visitors' bench where heckling could be truly appreciated. I also remember the pep band with about five members, including a guy who played the hell out of a trombone. I am not sure how the attendance would be at a regular pre-conference game at the Ted two days before Christmas. I think the Scope game will generate more interest.

To make it a true throwback night, they should have a concert in the lower concourse with kegs of beer and require little pink slips of paper for admittance!

Open that basement area that was the Big Blue Room (I think, old brain cells!).
Have garbola punch in a claw foot tub!

There used to be dances down there in the mid to late 60's. Due to all the keg beer the floor would become this disgusting gray slop from the concrete deck paint, beer and God knows what else!

This is the crowd that was in attendance to the sold out game vs NSU a couple years ago.

It was also on December 29th.

This will probably be the best attended event at the Scope since the Admirals played for the Calder Cup.

I think it will be well attended due to the fact that is IS close to Christmas. While some students will go home for break, a lot of people who grew up in this area will also be home. I would think there would be some sort of local pride, especially with how well attended the game at the Ted was a few years ago

Is this game perhaps a prelude to us moving to the MEAC for basketball?

It's also close to bowl season. Might not have a big impact...hoping not to be in a pre-Christmas bowl anyway. But they do exist.

I'm excited and can't wait for us to end this losing streak we have to yall on the blvd of Hampton. To the poster that asked about our uniforms, it's a really good chance we will wear our green away or gold alternates. White, while being our home is worn even less than the golds. P.S. I wish we could get yall in Echols

I would LOVE to see them think outside the box and set up seating on a half/half basis. One half of Scope are ODU Tickets and fans wear Blue/White. One Half of the Scope are NSU tickets and fans wear Green/Gold. It's your job as a school to sell your seats by a certain date or the opponent can "invade" your half. When fans buy seats they say they want the ODU or the NSU section. Pretty easy. I'd love to see it. Would make for an even better atmosphere.

This is an awesome idea. Have it split at the mid-court line and fans sit on whatever side their team's bench is
