I just wonder, who would be in your conference. I am just summer bored and waiting for 2017 college football season to start. I will go first:

Syracuse
Ohio State
Michigan
Notre Dame
Penn State
West Virginia
Virginia Tech
Louisville

Tennessee
North Carolina
Clemson
Georgia
Florida
Florida State
Alabama
Louisiana State

Since you didn't include Cincy and my alma mater is actually Ohio State I can assure you 99.99% of "that our" fan base has "zero zilch nada" interest in playing against your plebian school. Now please include one of your biggest rivals next time.

In Wilkie's defense, he just posted how most Louisville fans feel now. It's no offense intended, it's hard to consider our programs rivals when we don't compete against each other any longer.

Louisville is in the same situation with its new conference. No real rivals because of a lack of history with anyone. Given time some things will naturally occur until then you just play the games.

Give me UVA, WVU, Pitt, Penn St, Maryland, Duke, UNC, NC State, Wake Forest, S Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Ga Tech, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisville, Cincinnati and Ohio State.

Thats 19 teams.

TRUE. Reluctantly I'll toss out Duke, Wake and Cincinnati. That leaves 16 (including VT).

I could make the Power four look into a NFL like League with each four conferences have schools from all the states representative.

PAC 12
Big 10
ACC
SEC

Alabama
Auburn
Troy/South Alabama
North Alabama

UAB is not listed because they are too close to Alabama, and the Tide will have a fit if they get picked. Samford, Alabama A&M and Alabama State do have their issues. Jacksonville State is close to Auburn which could be a problem.
South Alabama and North Alabama would be safe bets because they are not close to the two big schools.

I will never understand why you want every university or college that has ever existed to be DI/FBS. Lindenwood? Davenport? Azusa Pacific? UNC Pembroke? Wisconsin-Eau Claire? I mean, why?

Speaking solely for UNCP, you won't find a person in North Carolina that considers them to be a premier institution in the state or region. There has even been conversation before about closing it down. Why would you bring an underwhelming school of 6,000 students up if they are struggling in DII?

I chose Pitt's 15 most played opponents all-time who are still in FBS. The only change was I switched Nebraska for Cincinnati because Nebraska is out of place and there's not a big rivalry there. I might change one or two teams but overall it actually works pretty well for who I'd want in Pitt's conference.

Army
Boston College
Cincinnati
Duke
Louisville
Miami
Navy
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Penn State
Pitt
Rutgers
Syracuse
Temple
Virginia Tech
West Virginia

As for basketball, my preference would be:
Boston College
Cincinnati
Connecticut
Duquesne
George Washington
Georgetown
Louisville
Marquette
Notre Dame
Penn State
Pitt
St. John's
Syracuse
Temple
Villanova
West Virginia

Lindenwood is a private school in the St. Louis tv market. They do bring something to the table.
Azusa Pacific is in the Los Angeles tv market in the valley. They would bring something to the table.
Davenport is a private school in Michigan, and they are spending money like a drunken sailor.
UNC-Pembroke is the highest level school that was created for the Pembroke Native American tribe in the state. It would be like closing them down like you try to close down any of the HBCU schools.

The schools I mainly listed are in large cities that could do well in tv ratings. A lot of them happened to be in D2. We have a lot of P5 and G5 schools located in smaller rural cities like Washington State. You need something to offset those schools.

Symmetry is attained from the nine Catholic schools (w/ BC), football, basketball and Northeast presence. Basketball Tournament is still held at MSG. RE: If you could create your dream conference for football
Yes, DavidST, Lindenwood is a private school in the Saint Louis TV market. As are Washington University in Saint Louis, Webster, Fontbonne, The Saint Louis School of Pharmacy and several other. Also, there are public school UMSL and Harris-Stowe. All of them bring exactly the same thing to the table, an appetite.

UMSL basketball get very rare mentions on the local sports shows that are after the Saturday and Sunday late TV news. I have never heard any of the others mentioned.

It was years after moving here, and after learning of the other schools, that I found out about Lindenwood. And that was only when they rented some space in an office building near me and put their name on it.

Also, in you Colorado conglomeration, why didn't you include Metro State, UCCS, Adams State, Western State and Fort Lewis? We'll make Metro and USSC add football and while we're at it we will make UC-Denver add an athletic department.

The only change was I switched Nebraska for Cincinnati because Nebraska is out of place and there's not a big rivalry there. I might change one or two teams but overall it actually works pretty well for who I'd want in Pitt's conference.

Army
Boston College
Cincinnati
Duke
Louisville
Miami
Navy
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Penn State
Pitt
Rutgers
Syracuse
Temple
Virginia Tech
West Virginia

As for basketball, my preference would be:
Boston College
Cincinnati
Connecticut
Duquesne
George Washington
Georgetown
Louisville
Marquette
Notre Dame
Penn State
Pitt
St. John's
Syracuse
Temple
Villanova
West Virginia

I know a lot of Pitt fans don't feel this way, but the UC v Pitt conference series garnered a lot of interest for UC fans and I think a lot of casual fans as well. Given the geographic proximity of the two schools and the fact that professional sports teams are rivals, there was in a sense a build up of this is a game that has some meaning. Moreover, the schools often were recruiting some of the same kids.

I know we will likely never be in a conference with Pitt again, and I know we have a couple games scheduled for fball 8-10 years down the line, but I am hoping we play more often in both football and basketball.

First, realize that you are arguing with a crazy man... My dad always told me not to argue with two types of people- drunks and crazy people.

Second, as an alumnus of Metro State, they are forbidden by their Charter from ever sponsoring varsity football. They had a club once upon a time, but they cannot add FB right now. Just sayin'.

Maybe DU though? (I kid... I kid...)
