To perfectly honest with you, Underdog, no... What would really make Air Force very attractive though will be BYU and Air Force together.

I don't think this conference would say "no" to Air Force... It improves the "American" brand that we're trying to establish in my opinion....

Please take them. Horrendous basketball, and no upside in football (except for the wins over Navy and the CIC Trophy that nobody cares about).

We would just add UTSA, which has more upside.

Unfortunately for all of us, Air Force would just say no to the American, again.

If the AAC were to land Army, I think Air Force would absolutely be interested.

We don't need either of them two, HuskyU

Only time most Americans are tuned in to watch any of those games is when they face each other after that, crickets.

Navy in our league is plenty enough, IMHO

To be honest, army doesn't interest me in the bit anymore since they are keeping the army navy game ... That was there golden nugget.. full control of arguably the biggest notable college football tradition... Without it what are we getting???

I also don't think we need either one. I was just saying Air Force would definitely consider joining a conference that included Navy and Army (contrary to fanhood's belief).

I doubt though BYU would even consider SDSU as travel partner if it came to that, I think Air Force or Colorado State have the inside track to joining this league with BYU.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I'm totally against any one from mwc joining the AAC... Why?!? They just don't bring much worth to the table.

You wouldn't agree on inviting Air Force Big H?

Air Force wasn't interested in AAC before because it entailed a football only invite which meant finding a home for their other sports something very difficult and unattractive to them

Army is not giving up the P5 status they have for the ACC, SEC, B-12, and B-10 and the ability to play 2 FCS schools a year with one of those schools coming from the Patriot League. The also are not going to fork over the loot they make playing the Army / Navy game each year. They have the best of all worlds with bowl opportunities where they are since they know they aren't going to play for the National Championship and yet get over $200k anyway from the CFP system. 07-coffee3 04-cheers 02-13-banana 04-jawdrop 04-rock 04-bow 01-ncaabbs

All I know is this: 2017 is an odd year. So it's time for the American to win another NY6 game.

See 2013 UCF, 2015 Houston.

Your best chances are Memphis and Tulsa. I think you guys are underestimating the effect of coaching changes regarding Houston and USF.

We will soon find out and I think you are underestimating having a loaded team with talent.

Yup, Houston is certainly an example of the counter point. But that is generally the exception, and not the rule.

I do think Major made a big mistake in saying "9-3 is not good enough." As I have said before, 9-3 likely means you are in the Championship Game or are playing for it the last week of the season.

Well, people forget that Boise has lost five conference games in the past two seasons, and has only one two titles in the past five. Kind of proves my point, Boise has averaged 9.5 wins in the past two seasons, and 10 over the past five, and that includes post season games. Thus, 9-3 in the regular season is what the mentioned teams do on average.

He said that in his introductory press conference when the team was 9-3 and had underachieved. He was referring to the often anticlimactic 4-3 end to a 5-0 Top 6 national start.

Ok. So would a 2-2 start followed by finished 7-1 in conference play and making it to the Conference Championship Game be acceptable?

Yes, considering in April he said:

"I think 8-4, 9-3, 10-2, 11-1 should be a minimum every year. I think that's what we need to hold ourselves to. ... I don't think that's unrealistic, I don't think that's a pie-in-the-sky thought."

http://www.espn.com/college-football/sto...ep-winning

In April, he was discussing expectations for the program.

In December, he was looking at his (9-3) team in the press conference room who were disappointed in how they finished when he said "We know 9-3 is not good enough."

Well that is entirely different. I am glad he expounded, and/or clarified that point. That is the SDSU standard now as well.

Lol....fanhoods "projections" lifted from the MW Board.

Houston is going to go 2-2 OOC this year, 1-1 vs P5 IMO. ECU is going to go 1-3 OOC and 0-3 vs P5. Memphis will go 0-1 vs P5 this year and 3-1 overall. Temple will get crushed by ND in opening week, and Cinci will be embarrassed by Michigan. Only USF will have a win against the P5, and that will be against Illinois.

The AAC fans are in for a let down this year.

Of course he has the MW winning virtually every OOC game they play. Comedy Gold.
