First, Outdoor Track
Arkansas distance runner Daniel Lincoln and South Carolina sprinter Aleen Bailey were named 2003 Outdoor Track Southeastern Conference Male and Female Athletes of the Year, as voted on by the coaches. South Carolina sprinter/hurdler Kenneth Ferguson and Georgia thrower Krista Woodward were named the SEC Male and Female Freshmen Outdoor Athletes of the Year, respectively. Also, Arkansas men's coach John McDonnell and Florida women's coach Tom Jones were named SEC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track Coaches of the Year, respectively.
Lincoln, a senior from Fayetteville, Arkansas, was the NCAA Outdoor Champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 10,000 meter run. In winning the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Lincoln became the first American to win the event three years in a row. He also tied for the Commissioner's Trophy at the SEC Championships with 26 points by winning the 3,000 meter steeplechase and runner-up finishes in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs. Lincoln was named the 2003 Trackshark.com Outdoor Track Male Athlete of the Year.
McDonnell claimed the 2003 SEC Men's Outdoor Coach of the Year honor after leading the Razorbacks to the SEC Championship and their 38th NCAA Outdoor Championship. The SEC Championship was his 11th overall and first since they won ten straight from 1992-2001. This is McDonnell's 10th Outdoor Coach of the Year award and his first since winning nine straight from 1992-2000. McDonnell was also named the 2003 United States Track Coaches Association Mideast Region Coach of the Year.

And now, Indoor Track
Arkansas distance runner Alistair Cragg earned the Southeastern Conference Male Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year, while Auburn long jumper Elva Goulbourne was awarded SEC Female Athlete of the Year honors for indoor track. The awards were determined by a vote of the league's coaches.
Alabama distance runner Peter Etoot and Arkansas pole vaulter Stacie Manuel were named Male and Female Freshmen of the Year. Also, Arkansas' John McDonnell was named SEC Men's Track Coach of the Year, while Florida's Tom Jones and LSU's Pat Henry were named SEC Women's Track Co-Coaches of the Year.
Cragg, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa won the NCAA Indoor 3,000 meter championship, as well as his second straight 5,000 meter championship, leading the Razorbacks to the school's 17th NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. He also won the Commissioner's Trophy (leading individual scorer at the SEC Indoor Championships) for the second consecutive year, scoring 20 points by winning the 3,000 meter run and the mile. Cragg was the SEC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for February 5.
Manuel became the first freshman to win the pole vault title at the SEC Championship with he mark of 13;08.25. She finished eighth in the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning All-American status in the process. Manuel became the first freshman in Arkansas history to clear 13 feet.
Arkansas coach John McDonnell earned his ninth SEC Men's Coach of the Year Award, and his first since 2001. McDonnell led the Razorbacks to their 17th Indoor National Championship, and their ninth since joining the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas also won their seventh consecutive SEC Championship, and eleventh overall.
