If it's money at issue, I'm astounded that the sponsors marketing this as an authentic American experience in Australia wouldn't spend a few thousand more to bring the cheerleaders. It's maybe a dozen more seats with plain checked baggage on a flight that they're already putting over 100 people on (not to mention all the pads that have to be shipped). On the scale of things, this is a low-cost, high-impact expense to spare.

It's been clear for some time that Rice, the institution, doesn't care about these things. So, it's left to a relatively few athletic supporters to discuss among themselves on the Parliament.
