WM picks up a verbal commit from OF Ryan McKenna (5'9" 175lbs Montgomery, NJ). Prep Baseball Report had this to say after a showcase earlier this year:

'Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
McKenna has a stocky athletic build at 5-foot-9 175-pounds. Top performer at the event. OF ran a 7.23 60 yard dash. Offensively- starts in a balanced stance with feet slightly wider than shoulder width and hands above back shoulder. As pitch comes in,  uses a big leg kick to start swing. Hands load up, knob of bat is raised above top of bat, as the bat is tilted down his back. As he gets foot down, bat and hands come back down to level with back shoulder. Explosive hips and violent yet controlled swing and finish. Creates some lift on finish. Gap to gap type hitter. Does not get cheated on swings. Exit velocity recorded at 90 mph. Defensively- recorded throws that topped at 83 mph. Gains ground on ground balls continuing momentum forward upon release. High-3/4 slot. Recoil on finish.'

WM picks up a commitment from CA/3B Max Winters (5'9" 175 lbs Ocean, NJ). Prep Baseball Report New Jersey had the following comments:

"Preseason All-State Showcase (2/11/17)
Winters has a stockier build at 5-foot-9 165-pounds. One of the Top Performers from the event. Middle infielder that can play third base as well. Ran a 8.07 60 Yard Dash. Offensively- starts in a crouch with weight visibly on back leg. Hands just above back shoulder and are loaded prepitch. Uses a toe tap to start load, and raises out of crouch slightly on the backside as pitch comes in. Partial hip clear, cuts self off on finish with lower half. Balance on finish is sound. Shows some bat speed. Line drive type hitter with gap to gap potential, uses extension to get barrel to the ball. Exit Velocity: 84. Defensively- shows some athleticism with attacking ground balls. Shows soft hands and a feel for continuing footwork toward first base. Exchange is fluid and plays through throws across the infield. Throws topped at 80 mph with some carry."

Another commit: OF/SS Joe De Los Santos (5'11" 185lbs, Creedmor, NC).

New commit: LHP Garrett Casey (5'11" 175lbs - LaGrange, GA). Dynamic Baseball tweets that he can hit the mid-80s with a clean arm action and feel for a breaking ball.

I checked Perfect Game's list of verbal commits today to see if there was anybody listed who didn't make a commitment announcement via Twitter which is where I typically see them. Middle infielder Ben Greenspon (6'0" 170lbs - New York, NY) is listed and while he has a twitter account he doesn't seem to use it so this could be one of those situations. Perfect Game isn't 100% accurate (for the 2017 class they list someone as joining the Tribe who is actually going to Mary Washington and for the 2018 class they similarly list a player going to VMI) but assuming Greenspon is coming I found some info/video here:

Tribe pick up a commitment from RHP/3B Tommy Mayer (6’4” 185lbs - East Windsor, NJ) today. Perfect Game has him hitting 86mph last year.

Prep Baseball Report had this to say about Mack back in April:

“Mack has an athletic frame with some projection left and throws with a drop and drive delivery from a high three-quarters arm slot. Short free arm action with normal effort to his delivery. LHP Matt Howat (6’2” 170 lbs - Oakton, VA) commits to the Tribe. Prep Baseball Report had this to say last year:

“6.27.17: Howat is 6-0 with a lanky frame, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot. Short, loose arm action that is quick, easier effort to his delivery. Shoulders are closed and downhill, lands slightly closed with an athletic finish, classic lefty crossfire. Fastball sat 80-83 with good angle and late sink to it. Very good curveball with late, sharp 2/8 break at 72-73 and good armspeed. Showed change-up in warmups with some armspeed and a bit of fade to it.”

Since that scouting report he has grown a couple of inches and has upped his fastball into the mid-80s. District pitcher of the year at James Madison HS.
