It appears NMSU got a big time recruit from A&M with Alton Robinson. Any other SBC teams and up giving a new home to P5 transfers?

RE: High profile transfers
We got a running back from Memphis last year who's now eligible to play. He's not from a P5, though memphis will challenge for an access bowl bid, and many would not consider him high profile, but he may be one of the best offensive players we've ever had at Troy. He's that good and will have a big impact this season as a compliment to Chunn. Where Chunn is a power back, Jamarius Henderson is the full package. He drags defenders like they're ten pounds, hits the hole really quick, and has the breakaway speed Chunn lacks. Henderson rushed for 3,483 and 44 TDs as a senior, both of which are now state records. Can't wait to see him play.

We got a pretty highly-rated cornerback from Ohio State.

OSU signed two of the best corners in the whole country this year, so this guy was looking at limited PT.

Didn't the Cajuns get LSU's former starting QB for his 5th year last season? Yeah, that worked out real well...

We are excited about Alabama RB transfer Derrick Gore. He blocked a punt and scored a TD in the SEC championship game and is immediately eligible. He was 3rd string RB at Alabama I believe, which should probably translate to starter in the SBC.

I wouldn't get excited...you missed the point, Anthony Jennings was less than stellar. Worse yet, this year's alleged starter was penciled in as the starter last season until Jennings hit campus. No playbook and very few reps, Jennings moved to starter. P5's are not P5's anymore for many reasons. He had a great resume', did not translate to the SBC.

By scrubs, do you mean CEL type busts?

RE: High profile transfers
CEL was exactly as advertised. If he had that kind of speed and could run routes and catch he wouldn't have transferred to a G5.

That is the upside of taking someone like Ukeme Eligwe who was kicked out of school for marijuana...you know you are more likely be getting a guy who is good.

CEL was a problem from day one. But after the bowl game I have real hope for Dee Liner.

He was eye-popping NFL good in that bowl game!

I'm pretty sure that Robinson never made it to A&M because he got arrested. If he can stay out of trouble, he's an amazing talent though.

App State brought in a grad transfer from Kent State named Brock Macaulay who has started twenty games in his career. Corey Sutton is also transferring in from Kansas State at receiver.

App rarely goes the major college transfer route. The last one was Tim Washington from LSU in 2007 and he was a huge bust. We fill holes with juco's, but they are not a big part (13 over the past 10 years) of our recruiting classes.

Tacoi Sumler from Oregon was just a couple years ago. He also did nothing of note.

RE: High profile transfers
USA picked up some defensive help from Alabama transfer Shawn Jennings (ATH/LB) earlier this summer and safety Spencer Perry, who went public this afternoon that he's transferring in from Notre Dame. Both will have to sit this year though. Perry will have 3 years of eligibility left starting next year. I think Jennings also has 3 years left.
